If is Thursday through Sunday, the last weekend in April and the first weekend in May. They will publish the schedule in a month or so. One ticket gets you in the venue, the Fair Grounds race track, for the day. Going for multiple days means buying multiple tickets. You can migrate between 10 or so stages (tiny to huge) along with food vendors, merchandise, and art booths. The ticket covers the music. Everything else costs.

Your kid's level on independence matters. Going with an 8 year old means staying at the small stages or in the back of the big ones and buying snowballs every two hours. Going with a 13 year old means making sure they are capable of coming back to you.

It is a great event.

Tab been away a while. He can make it scream. Taj Mahal and Eric gales should be good also.

Morris Day & The Time

At first I was like, why are they buried halfway down the list. Then I googled and realized Morris Day is 67 years old.

Jerome! Hand me my compression socks!

I don’t have much to say about this lineup other than I wouldn’t pay that much for it.

But Kacey Musgraves is fine as hell.

I check the lineup every year to confirm Irma Thomas is still alive.

All the good usual headliners are getting old. Pretty soon Jazzfest will be shitty nobodyfest.

The acts and hence Jazz Fest have (over)priced themselves out. It's beginning to look like the B-casino circuit. Here's a podcast link to a Thahn Truong podcast with Quint Davis on the expense of current acts.
Truong report
The festival is in need of major reset. A French Quarter Fest on steroids if you will. Pay less for your main acts and lower the prices at the gate, let the vendors make their $$.because lower entry = more disposable to spend.

You can’t leave out Samantha Fish. She’s amazing.

Jazzfest has simply become ACL Fest, Coachella, or Lollapalooza. All the same damn bands cycled through every 2-3 years. Switching to one or the other the create false variety.

Boring.

Yep. Jazzfest? As a headliner? Goodness gracious, they played the Veterans Blvd neutral ground last year during Family Gras... and that was FREE.

Is Jazz Fest is boycotting Better Than Ezra and Cowboy Mouth because they haven't been invited to play in years.
