Good guy and good lawyer. For a long time, he used a pink font for his emails.

I've heard stories of this from some former colleagues of his... Pretty fkn hilarious. I saw him in the bathroom one time and thought to myself "What the hell is going on with that guy?" then someone kindly informed me that he was indeed a brilliant mind

My bad. I thought Magner was on Williams. And you’re right Gibbons is involved.

What did you base that on? It's not like it was a NOLA jury

Magner is completely overrated as a white collar attorney which is why his client was found guilty.

They couldn’t connect him to the fraud. And during a chunk of the time, he was barely in the office. They believed Burdett did it, but they did not believe the feds proved BARD that he knew she was doing it.

From what I saw from Twitter, his cross was pretty good. Let’s all remember that he had by far the tougher case.

I know he'll never answer this, but it is a real question of how in the frick could he have no idea based on his tax burden. We didn't get the explanation due to the 5A, but I'm curious what it would have been had he had to testify.

That defense would 100% never work for a normal person.

Also, I'm curious what his tax assessment/penalties will end up being for this. Somebody posted in this thread he had a separate/unrelated lien of 6-figures for another tax issue.

He would have said this:

I am the rainmaker. Nicole did the books. I was good at attracting business but terrible at the business of business. I don’t represent businesses, and it has never been part of my practice.

At the end of the year, Nicole told me how much we had made. On April 15th, she picked up the tax forms and I signed them.

I’m a courtroom lawyer, not a paperwork lawyer.

That’s what he would have said. And I think that’s what the jury inferred without him saying it.

Again, (a) it's legitimately sociopathic how he did that to his bff and (b) that would never fly for a normal person

If she was convicted of a felony, she's likely going to lose her license. I don't know if she'll be permanently disbarred but the conviction being one of integrity and lack of truthfulness isn't good for her license.
