His Trevor Noah interview is pathetic.
Isbell is from Greenhill, AL and I'm sure they were proud of him for some time but he is a bitch now.

I DGAF about paying to be berated with the political opinions of an ex drug addict/alcoholic with effectively no education.
There’s way too much good music out there to have to deal with political and SJW bullshite at a concert.

Didn’t think it was that bad. I don’t agree with his political stance but that’s not going to keep me from enjoying his music.

His music is sad AF... I wouldn't wanna stand and listen to that for a couple of hours.. it would make me want to slice my wrists

If you don’t enjoy artists of any sort because of their political beliefs, you probably don’t have much to enjoy.

Thanks Elmo
What's the letter of the day?

I've listened to every live show/interview he has out on YouTube and I've never been insulted by his views like everyone here. He's one of the best songwriters around and he's getting better with each album. He plays to love and emotion...what do you all want...him to sing about the guy who owns a construction company, makes millions of dollars and buys a 50' Hatteras? Life doesn't have to be an echo chamber for you to feel comfortable enough to enjoy art.

Who said anything about enjoyment, Alice? I love Jason Isbell. That song is just a whine fest. Why would an election give someone a breakdown as he admits in his song? It's an "us v them" anthem disguised as magnanimity.
It's lame and shitty, as is most of his new album. But I'm still going to go see him in Feb. Don't we have a music board?

This is music board discussion but cover to cover Southeastern is his best imo and that's pushing half a decade ago. Something More Than Free has a handful of shitty over-produced crap I skip every time. Otherwise, awesome songs.
I didn't like the new album on first few listens, and although High Road is poppy and catchy I find it cliche.
Still better than most, I'll give him that.

He's basically antifa at this point
He tried to start a "down with trump, anti gay, racist, sexist kkk" chant at a show in Mississippi. Needless to say it didn't go well

Yea I don't give two fricks about artists, athletes, and actors personal/political lives and outlooks.
Sean Penn is a great actor, Rodman was a great basketball player and I don't give a frick who kneels for the Anthem, and Kanye has some genius music out there but personally they can jack donkey dicks for all I care.
And BTW OP, How fricking hard was linking the tour information?
Isbell at River Center Saturday Jan 6

Enjoyed him more with the Truckers frankly.

I heard he wrote a 30 minute medley called "justice for Alton" especially for the Baton Rouge show

i went to 3 shows in 2 different states last year and never saw a BLM sign. He also didn't bash Trump from stage and didn't speak of politics. Yes he hung a BLM sign from the stage for 2 shows last year. but by all means don't go to his shows .

I've seen him 4 times and he's never gotten political at a show I attended. I go get a drink when he does White Man's World and enjoy the rest of the show.
