We kinda killed like 200k of them in a day. Not sure we can debate atrocities.
Because it’s the same thing?

Japan is better than the USA, at least the USA in its current form.

People in Japan have high standards and they live up to it. Clean, modern, vibrant, and all the trains run on time.
Leave a tourist area and let me know how that holds up.

It's actual documented history. I guess that's what happens when you dumb down education for decades and stupid people buy propaganda hook, line and sinker.
What about in the last, like, half to 2/3 of a century? Atrocities?

You mean the period they spent denying they did anything wrong? That timeframe?

Do you think that they should let in swarms of Africans/Middle Easterners to keep their GDP up?
Why is it always 1,2,3,1000 for you people?
I don't think they need that or will allow it. Diversity doesn't work for everyone. They are not a nation founded on multicultural, multireligious, or multiethnic principles. They are obviously a successful culture with many admirable traits-but they could let some of the more arcane and individually diminutive aspects go without sacrificing their individual distinctiveness. That might make it more palatable for the youth to continue it and survive . Their economic strength in spite of their population and imprint is impressive by itself.

Japan is superior to the US, especially if you are Japanese. I love that country so much.

So do you hate the USA equally for their stained past?
No one is defending past atrocities you moron.
Some people can recognize that the sins of my father do not make the man that I am.
If you’ve ever spent time with the average Japanese citizen, you will find that they are equally ashamed of past actions just as many Americans are ashamed of our past.
But that shame stops with the understanding that it doesn’t make us guilty for those actions by others in another era.
All cultures, societies, religions, and countries have produced periods that are rightfully looked at as terrible testimony of the evils of man.
That doesn’t mean that those actions should define us today.
For OP, Taiwan is my second place after the US. Generally speaking, the population is far friendlier to westerners than Japan.

OT preaching tolerance and understanding...towards the cultures they like anyway.

What in my post gave you the impression it was directed at “a culture I like”?
My words are valid, universally.
Unfortunately, there are definitely countries today that have not overcome the sins of their past and they are relentlessly repeating them.

What exactly are you preaching?
And why not answer my question? I gave you a very direct explanation on how I felt your comment was invalid.
Why not respond in kind? Defend your earlier statements. Communicate how my statements are invalid.

I don’t know about that… but I can tell you, Popeyes in India is nowhere close to a real Popeyes. Sure, they have the same logo and branding and the same shitty service.
But they don’t have Red beans and rice, dirty rice, mashed potatoes, green beans, or biscuits.

Yeah, what's not to like about a people that raped and killed children during WWII then denied it for decades.
What’s your point? Can't there be coexisting truths. Yeah they did some fricked up shite in the years leading up to the war and during the war. What are you supposed to do, never visit or live in that country again because someone at sometime in the past did something terrible? If by that logic every country on this planet would have to close shop and cease existing. Every culture has blood on their hands. You didn’t make it to this point in history without having to get your hands dirty at some point. That’s a fact.
I’ve never been to Japan, but what I have heard and seen on media it seems pretty nice. I have been to Germany, and it seems pretty fricking nice to me. Should i suffer for having patronized a country that committed “war crimes”? I live in America we did some fricked up shite during and after the war, should I just end it because of some shite done before I ever existed?

Not enough weebs and otakus here, you want to go to the source? Do you really think there’s no reason Japanese males have the highest suicide rates in the world?
