The fetus dies?

It’s why critical care equipment typical has redundancies. (For instance, both being plugged in the hospital’s emergency circuits for back up power and having built in batteries)

It is an incubator, a fancy one, but an incubator nonetheless.

I honestly have a hard to comprehending what makes the Japanese excel.. they underwent 200 years of modernization in 20 years during the Meiji restoration and almost whooped our arse only 70 years removed from fighting with bow and arrows and swords. Ofcourse they are the first to create an artificial womb

They have a homogeneous society that has been able to protect its culture on an island stronghold. Great Britain owes much of its past success for the same reason.

Traditional Japanese culture emphasizes duty, harmony, and respect. A culture so powerful that General MacArthur convinced the Truman Administration to keep the Japanese emperor in power after their surrender. He saw that it would be easier to enforce their surrender through the emperor as the population remained loyal to him.

Mix this disciplined society with capitalism and industrialization and you have a superpower.

It includes:

An oxygenation system that mimics umbilical cord blood exchange

A nutrient delivery circuit that supplies everything an embryo needs to grow

How is that at all relevant to whether it’s an “incubator”?

So because it runs on electricity, it’s an incubator? Gonna start calling a ventilator incubators too.

Sometimes I have to ponder - why was this necessary? Who thought it was a good idea? How does this help humanity?

Yeah I’m sure that eliminating the act of conception and pregnancy as we know it won’t have any unintended consequences on humanity.

It’s science so it must be human progress. Amiright?

Is this womb inside a sexbot? If not, I don't see this moving the needle other than men now can laugh at women who think the world doesn't need men except their sperm.

I’ve never disliked someone who I thought was on the same side as me as this guy. Staggering.
