NOPJF very thin skinned

They would be much better off just not worrying about what anyone says about them and just get to work to solve the multiple issues they face.

What a weak response.

We <3 Kirkpatrick because she’s a flawed human? How about lives were lost due to your incompetence

We have let the morons be in charge of our lives so we can pursue careers and dreams.

Our government, police, military, education, and heath system are run by and full of morons.

No. I wouldn’t. Personal Injury Attorneys are the lowest of the low in this state and lawsuit culture is a major factor that destroys where we live.

15 people are dead because a radicalized terrorist belonging to a violent insane evil cult wanted to spread fear and chaos. They are not dead because of the NOPD or the city officials.

Watching media manipulation and social engineering in real time in my home city is surreal. And seeing even people I care about and respect completely and totally blinded by it is sad.

We should be united against terrorism and instead we are all united against the city and the police force. We should be supporting the city and instead we’re tearing it down. We should be mad at the man who perpetrated the crime and instead we’re mad at the police for not seeing the future and ensuring every possible way for that psycho to hurt people be prevented.

We should be screaming from the rooftops that Americans will stand united against terrorism in all forms because we are stronger and refuse to live in fear. Instead, We’ve basically already completely erased the thought of the terrorist and his motivations. It’s gone from the media and this website and the social culture in general. We’re all in on ballards and making fun of the police. Brainwashed hindsight bias insanity.

How many people at work yesterday did you hear talk about terrorism and the need to rally around a US city and fight terrorism wherever it is found? How many people did you hear shite on the NOPD and the city?

A psycho with and ISIS flag murdered people and all we are talking about is whether or not a couple barricades should’ve been somewhere.

Our American culture and society is a pathetic shell of what it once was. It’s bizarre to watch so many blissfully ignorant people bask in brainwashed euphoric outrage culture. Give credit to the media and the machine. They won and they did it masterfully.

Damn right. People need to wake the frick up and start showing compassion to their neighbors. Tired of this forced division. Treat others how you wanna be treated. Be alert. Think for yourself and question everything, especially your own beliefs. I think having a two party system makes it easier for the media to paint every issue as black or white. Thats not reality though.

Damn, there's a whole lot of truth in what you have said. I think alot of people either just can't see it or have been so programmed by what you have described that they feel guilty for even questioning anything beyond what they are told.

People inherently look for someone to blame when terror attacks happen.

Kirkpatrick is an easy target and her answers in the PC did her no favors. She’s been good for the resurgence of NOPD morale and crime in the city has been on a good trajectory. She was clearly overmatched by this as most police chiefs would, but with the big events coming to the city she doesn’t have the luxury of being most police chiefs.

I don’t think she’ll be fired or removed, but I think there’s certainly lessons learned. The anger will fade towards her eventually.

ETA: totally agree with your point on the lawsuit.

how about being able to be upset about both? life is about nuance but to the same point as your post, people want to fight over what they should be more upset over. why not both? your post is stupid. The terrorist is an a-hole and the city government is a let down. Not that hard to say.

Well said, but maybe one reason that idea is being thrown out is the hatred people already had for the Mayor and percieved ineptitude of the Police Chief. If a competent Mayor was in charge, I wonder if the views would be more like you said they should be.

Not agreeing with the sentiment just wondering.

It’s totally bizarre to me how many people are acting like the bollards are obscure resources or need hindsight or aren’t utilized all over the place including here previously

It’s like saying you shouldn’t have a front door on your house cause a thief (or reporter from the post) could break a window and get in easily.

It’s just such a baseline and basic piece of security in this day and age. We have gotten so accustomed to throwing our hands up at local problems that aren’t all that complicated. unfortunately this guy was successful because we left the front door open for him to go through. Sure he could’ve broken a window or gone to another house. Or maybe he gets caught fumbling at the front door trying to get in. We don’t know what would’ve happened other than he wouldn’t have driven 3 blocks down a crowded street that was on high alert for these attacks.

We need more out of our leaders or we will keep seeing bad things happen in our neighborhoods and to our friends and family.

Or would a different administration have used the devices at hand? Because a previous one did, right?

I think too many are leaning on not blaming the victims and thinking New Orleans is the victim. The 30 folks out there were the victims. Mayor Cantrell and NOPD were the highly compensated leaders that are tasked with providing security that based on their plan left an easily filled and obvious hole that they were warned about and we as tax payers spent a good bit of money to give them the resources to fill which were left sitting in some bushes on the greenway.

While I agree they are bottom feeders and opportunists, negligence is real and in this case specifically, there is a lot of blame to be passed around.

The grieving families will ultimately file suit on the City which of course will create even more issues at the taxpayer expense. It sucks but that’s where we are. Plus, these suits will essentially force protocol change.

Now with that said, some jagoff looking to make a quick buck needs his arse kicked bigly.
