Yes but he could have gone straight up canal .. or all around the quarter. Can’t put those things everywhere.

ADA accessibility standards is a pretty easy excuse given the narrow size of French Quarter streets and sidewalks.

Its very possible to put sidewalk bollards in place with an area large enough for motorized wheelchairs to clear but not wide enough for a ford F150.

It requires some level of money and effort though

Serenity now.

The street is open to traffic. It’s a commercial street that relies on deliveries. The bollards were under repair or non operational and police were blocking the entrance. Entrance to far busier areas of Bourbon further into the Quarter could have happened at literally dozens of other routes. A terrorist exploited a weakness and was willing to die to do so. He could have done the same thing at 50 other spots.Or he simply could have done the same on Canal
Or at Jackson Square.

But they won’t control people with other methods of doing harm. Vehicles aren’t the only way havoc can be created.

Where has the FBI been in all of this since early yesterday morning when they said this was not a terrorist attack?

Probably coordinating with DOJ-CRS

DOJ-CRS is basically the Mike Ehrmentraut of the government. They exist to be a fixer, get rid of evidence, sweep things under the rug, and manipulate in order to engineer the preferred narrative of the government.

You will not stop a motivated killer. If this didn't happen on Bourbon,

It could have happened middle of the day on Bourbon when the streets are wide open and traffic is allowed.

what? Even the widest wheel chair is much narrower than a car...that's not an excuse.

Liz Murrill said had the metal beams been deployed and pulled up, the terrorist could have still went around them on the sidewalk.

Right...

Which is where we got the one lady who was way out of her depth, and the Muppet Show of local officials.

All of this. You aren't stopping something like this from happening again with bollards.

Sad someone videos it but I’m glad to see that people were tending or at least seemingly try to help those that were hit.

All of this is heart breaking.

JP Morel is on WWL radio right now and he said the city has a presser at 11 and Gov and the FBI have a presser at 1.

JP is making a lot of sense right now. He was talking about how bizarre the press conference yesterday was, how he believes law enforcement is doing all they can, how the bollards will be discussed and dealt with by the City in the near future, and how now is the time for the city, state and feds to present a clear, transparent, united front and not have separate pressers.

Not if that means you alert other terrorists causing them to flee or "activate". That's like wanting law enforcement to release every bit of info as soon as they can, essentially tipping off a perp. I know the government is inefficient and constantly shite on, but every now and then they nail someone to the wall.

This isn't accessories to a crime, these are terrorists. You don't think they know that people are, or should be, trying to locate them?
