I don’t remember Tara as having a particularly shitty rep in the ‘80s-‘90s.

Not how I expected that to go when it first started with student's "interesting" fighting stance. Was expecting janitor to wreck that guy.

Lamar (the student) is an expert in aerodynamics, and devised a technique to optimize his limp-wristed fighting style.

Yeah it was weird, but I’m gonna give the janitor the benefit of the doubt and say he was holding back.

What's sad is that the janitor could be another statistic somewhere in jail, but instead tried to better his life and chose to take some honest work as a janitor. Now hell inevitably be fired and probably resort back to culcha

This is perhaps the worst high school in all of Baton Rouge

Unfortunately it’s not. Glen Oaks looked in to providing childcare for students with children but the number of applications exceeded staffing and facilities “substantially”.

If you held a gun to my head I'd send my kid to Tara over Glen Oaks, Belaire or Broadmoor but not by much. All non magnet BR high schools are shitholes. It doesn't really matter which one we are talking about.

When I graduated in late 80s from Tara, only 1 of the 4 was a shithole school. Now I wouldn't send my daughter to any public HS other than BRHS.

I graduated in the mid 90s from Central but there were several decent public schools around then. Tara, Belaire and Broadmoor were so so. Lee and Woodlawn were still decent. We just pay for private school. It is what it is I guess. We could always move if needed.

I graduated in 77 (yeah I am old) and the only questionable schools in EBR was Capitol and Scotlandville. Two of my best friends went to Belaire and Baker and both were really good schools. Dang what happened? Everybody leave except those breeding or what? Baton Rouge used to be a good city. Sadly, not anymore.

It all started in about the late 80s or early 90s and continued for a decade. They implemented forced busing and the middle class all moved to the burbs or put their kids in private school. It's pretty much the only choices that you have now unless you can get them in a magnet school.

St George just isn’t far enough away, but then neither is AP or LP for that matter.

I’m not a politician or a lawyer, but I will never, for the life of me, understand why the person defending themselves, in this case the janitor, gets arrested. Shouldn’t it be the student, or whoever that threw the first punch that gets to go to jail?
