This isn't an all-new E-type. It's the same classic sports car from the 1960s with its long hood, curved roof and chrome bumpers, but with its engine and transmission removed and replaced by a battery pack and an electric motor.

That won't pass crash tests with that bumper.

When Jaguar says “retro”, does that mean it’s not built worth a shite and needs to have a mechanic on call at all times?

Because that’s certainly Jag’s reputation from decades ago.

1960 Jags were British. Do these new ones have a dot on their hood, worship cows, and like curry?

I would drive the frick out of it. Classic Jags have a timeless beauty and now that they've figured out how to make one that doesn't leak oil...

ETA: Also, why haven't electric cars looked like this from jump? Who the frick wants to drive around in a Prius or a Bolt/Volt? Whichever marketing guru told car manufacturers that they should make their e-cars look like Soviet-era rejects needs to be shot.

Why not just put a gas engine in it to make it legit?
