Been there. Was more of a PITA than I thought it would be. Broke a stud off trying to get the thermostat housing free. Good times.

i bought a $8 tool off ebay at the same time i ordered the clutch that would 'hold it' while you broke the nut free. the only tricky thing was getting the fan shroud back in place; it had a couple of clips that had to go back just so.

i can't imagine trying to get to it without removing the shroud first.

speaking of the e30, the SO pulled in yesterday and said 'hey look at the odometer'.

i can't imagine the odds of this happening as the car is pulling into the drivway so I had to get a pic.

I needed a thinner wrench than I had, and I lived in San Francisco at the time. I had no bench or anything to fashion a tool out of...I managed somehow.

Do they come with a “coexist” sticker and a little purse to hold your nuts that you no longer have?

hese are pretty easy and cheap to maintain once you get the gremlins sorted out.
Once had one of these this 5's ...once the bugs were out (cooling system issues) it was a great road car I should have never sold it.

i stand by my earlier assertion that i'm an idiot.

however, i'm an idiot who has access to youtube.

everything i 'know' about working on cars is watching someone else do it and copying them.

sweet 5

why did you sell it? like you said..once you have the main issues sorted out the car is worth WAAAAY more to you than what you'd get for it.

I had one of those too, an awesome car, ac issues that I had were due to them being designed for Euro ops, according to a friend of mine that I work with, and is a very good mechanic, he had a 7 series with the same issue, was able to fix his and mine by purchasing a little circuit board from Radio Shack and reprogramming the computer

Why do they have to make the hybrid type cars so damn ugly?

Legit question

If they took my Silverado, and gave it the same type of motor as the Prius, I’d buy it, 100%

I have never seen a legit hybrid vehicle that looks aesthetically pleasing

*new screen protector makes it really fricking difficult to type in a hurry

I once checked to see if my truck was literally leaking fuel because mileage had gotten so bad. I am definitely envious of the fuel efficient vehicles. My truck is getting old and pushing 200K. I stress a lot about what vehicle I will buy next. So many things to love about a truck, and I'm not sure if I will be able to give those up for better mileage. It's nice not to ever have to borrow a truck.

I don't have a "Things CAD Loves" Twitter feed, just a "Things CAD Hates" Twitter feed.

I don't know what to do here.

sounds like me, I had an F-250 diesel(no truck nuts,) during the last oil "boom," when fuel was over $4/gallon where I live, that was painful going to the pump so often, went back to a gas model that just sips fuel by comparison
