Not a fair criticism. This goes on everywhere. It’s a stereotype that seems to hold true.

m not bitching. A decade ago you needed a passport to experience this sort of culture.
Baton Rouge wasnt much different in 2012

The street racing/sideshow stuff is 100x more common but the rest, not so much

Looking forward to what tomorrow brings.

Not really that much. Crime is worse now. It's a lot different than it was 20+ years ago though

Everything OP just told us happens in basically all democrat run cities. BR is not exception. We have a lot of uneducated people living in this city that act like fricking heathens.

The street racing has to be somewhat unique to BR and NO. I’ve never seen anything like that in Nashville. The cops here would shut that down with the quickness.

It's definitely here in Birmingham, at least in the downtown area.

Trying to remember when, in 2012, some dudes were shot up outside the Mall of La. and an LSU student was murdered at the train tracks. I totally can’t recall that happening.

some grad students were murdered a couple years before 2012, and police officers were assassinated a couple years after. several shootings in tigerland in that general timeframe. i was getting "armed robbery near alaska st/aster st" emails from lsu weekly back then.

Got Popeyes for the first time in over a year yesterday and there was a dude passed the frick out in the grass between Popeyes and the fast food place next to it. Luckily someone else was already on the phone with authorities so I was able to pick up the best Popeyes I have had in years. The red beans were full, the biscuits were perfectly golden, the chicken was cooked to perfection. That dude took all the bad juju and somehow made my experience great, what would I do without all the culture in Baton Rouge.

Oh, and this was on Sherwood so I can't count high enough to count all the homeless...

That little stretch of Sherwood looks like a Walking Dead episode during the day time. I do like that Popeyes though.

Hmmm, I was in north BR all day yesterday 6:30 AM to 5PM, in Scotlandville on a construction project. Saw a couple of ambulances (amperlamps) but I did not hear one gunshot or see any street racing. Strangest thing I saw was on Scenic in front of the Exxon refinery where a smart car had rear ended an eighteen wheeler tractor. Also saw a six car rearend accident on SB Airline in front of the BRPD headquarters building. It was a peaceful day in Scotlandville.
