You just stretch the string a little.

The point of the problem IMO it to challenge our intuition. Without doing the math most people (including myself) feel like you would need a lot more string than an additional 6.28 (of 2pi) feet.

It’s still 2pi. Or 6.2ish feet.
Math be crazy like that. And very very racist.

Since we are talking about spheres, did you know that after the 6 dimension the volume decreases to infinitely small as the spacial dimensions increase? At least that what the math says. This assumes that the rules of math in our three dimensional world are the same in other dimensions.
Here is another fun fact. The surface area of a sphere is the same as 4 times the area of a circle with the same radius.

If the world were a square or rectangle , you would need 8 feet of additional rope.
No matter the size of the square.

2pir=131,000,000
r=131,000,000/2pi
2pi(r+1)=new circumference
New circumference - 131,000,000 = answer

Oh, sorry. I thought it said, "Gynecology Challenge".

40,576 additional feet of string
ETA I’m dumb and used the area formula

Ah, I see you speak and write Klingon. Impressive!

I thought it was directly proportional. Hell, I don’t know.

Your biggest concern is how are you going to elevate a piece of string 1 foot above the ground and or ocean .
