Like I said....Mardi Gras is not cancelled like the OP is claiming........Mardi Gras is technically a religious holiday

Dude, everyone knows what the OP meant. It's semantics at this point. Mardi Gras is still happening, but a lot of the usual celebrations are not.

So it’s not official that Mardi Gras is cancelled or is it?

If you define Mardi Gras as parades and balls then it is cancelled.

None of that.

If you consider Mardi Gras as a religious holiday it's on!

Right.

So the OP is fake news and should be edited.

Teedy dancing indoors, with no mask, to a brass band.

Seems too perfect. Not sure why they would post it though.

Not sure. They posted it today without context.

I don’t see one single mask bandana gaiter so I’m guessing it’s old (as much as I’d like it not to be)

Kind of where I am at as well.

I believe it was this band who was on social media at a local hangout playing last week. Might be low key throwing shade.

Did you see all the people in the Nola Reddit saying “if people wore masks we wouldn’t have to cancel Mardi Gras”?

fricking idiots

I was downvoted and shamed for saying no level of masking or public interaction was going to allow clubs and dance halls to reopen.

Toya has said we will go no further than this until we have a vaccine widely distributed. That means these bands aren't playing to crowds for months and possibly years.

No amount of positivity or infection rate changes that.

I checked yesterday at the latest weekly percent positive number for Orleans Parish was below 2%....easily the best in the state. I'm not sure what would have had to have happen short of eradication of Coronavirus for NOLA to have Mardi Gras parades in 2021.

I mean in my mind it isn't about COVID at all at this point.

The straw man of countless people not wearing masks is so annoying

Not to mention masks don’t do that much to prevent the spread

That and the holidays. Notice how it is always because of Memorial Day, 4th of July, so on and so on. No one can accept that it is a virus running its course and that there isn't a damn thing that can be done about it.
