I can't think of a single restaurant I would wait 1.5hrs to eat at.
If the restaurant is even halfway decent they don't have a waiting room.

If I'm given a 30 min or more wait time then I leave automatically. Just a personal rule. I ain't spending my night standing around with a thumb up my arse. Too many other options

You do know what he said to you sternly is the truth, right? And you should know this. Dont take it out on the dude who is just as upset about the fact that he has to deal with people like you who dont understand that this thing happens sometimes. Unfortunately, some people stay at their tables longer than expected and it backs seating times down and it’s automaticalily the hostess fault... If the hostess can seat you, he will. He isnt taking it out on you, because you’re a dick. There isnt a table! Just suck it up and wait, it’s what happens in the food industry. Some of you dicks have no idea.
Edit: I worked in food industry during college. Some people have no clue...

Thursday night I was out for dinner with the wife and one of my sisters. After being seated for about 20 minutes without any service, a waiter walked by and my sister asked can we order some drinks. This waiter, a woman, looked at us and told us in a very nasty way that we will get waited on sooner or later. Then walked off cussing us. I was shocked. There were very few people there. I was like WTF triggered this bitch. 
We got up and walked out. Best part, we talked to a manager at the door and told him. He tried to get us to stay and told us that drinks are on the house. Told him, no thanks.
This was up at the casino in Marksville.
Good thing it happen there. There are cameras everywhere and I'm sure this was taped. Bitch should be fired.
