Engquist brought up his six grandchildren on the stand.
Where do they/did they go to school?
That’s the first question I would have asked him.

U High, if his son is any indication.

You don't know what you're talking about. St George wants to provide its residents with representative government. It's naysayers want to deny those same people any voice in how their money is spent.

A small group of very wealthy "business leaders" in Baton Rouge are making millions on city and charter school service and construction contracts. When St. George happens, the pot shrinks

I agree.
He also built on property next to a trailer park that has flooded for years after storms.
He is building homes next to Woman’s hospital that flooded and make Calycut Bayou back up worse into old subdivisions.
As far as schools I bet his families never gone to public schools.
By the way ST George is not Lilly white. There is a good mix of different races who would like to see better opportunities for middle class people like themselves.
As far as Gardere why has someone not asked why BR has not annexed them into the city?

They should enter the crime stats from the weekend into the record. They had six or eight people shot in a period of a couple of hours.

Not to mention the shitshow at College and I10 after the Garth Brooks concert.

If Baton Rouge is so great, why doesn’t the police Chief live there?

Engquist testified that he believes the boundaries of the majority-White St. George were "racially motivated," a perception that he said harms his ability to recruit employees. "Perception becomes reality," he said.
Theoretically, can those who live in and voted for St. George file a class action defamation case against this, uhh, person?

Engquist threatened to pack up his publicly-traded company and move out of state should the firm and his nearby planned Materra residential development be forced to remain in St. George.
Would he really pack up and leave after building that fancy new H&E building?

Let him keep talking and hang himself in court and in public opinion.
If he is still being crossed today he can be asked about that and be forced to admit the truth or tied up like a pretzel to get perjury charges.

95% of the voters voted to not form St. George, why would the city force a section that was 95% opposed to joining, to join?

Just curious…are you an attorney? You seem quite versed in this case.

Not an attorney.
I grew up in what will become St George and had dearly wanted to stay there but it wasn’t feasible when kids were in my future.
The choice between a mortgage payment or multiple kids in private school was an easy one, especially given the demand my wife had of “they have to stay in whatever system they enter until graduation”.

He was asking why BR hasn't annexed Gardere... not St. George. Not that St. George can annex anything yet.

On top of that, Gardere wasn’t included in the successful petition because, last time around, renters moving in the time between signing the petition and the petition being validated was part of how they prevented the issue from even ending up on the ballot. If names, signatures, and addresses didn’t match when the verification was done, it was stricken from the petition.
IOW, the frickery by BR Proud and the city to prevent a vote under Kip is why Gardere is not currently within the bounds. And it isn’t racial.

I just checked out his website. We constantly need rental equipment for various jobs, and the plant I work at is in his footprint. He has some equipment that we do use on rentals.
But I'm the one who hunts for equipment, and I'll never call on his company.

You should probably let his board members know that.
Posted on 5/4/22 at 9:46 am to LSUBoo
I'd be stupid to come out with that.

8 people shot just last night alone. I hope the defense mentions that today.
