I truly believe people think that's true because it's been repeated several thousand times in the news cycle and they've been conditioned. There is 0 evidence that anything we did was going to stop the virus from spreading.
It's just like the finger pointing at the mythical antimask people by idiots on the coast. There's was a point during the summer where NY and California media were blaming other states for their own covid response because people thousands of miles away weren't wearing masks

I’ve never been as proud of my wife as I have been through this ‘pandemic’. Not only did she never close our retail business, but she worked every day when all our employees took unemployment, ramped up our online presence, organized a community Christmas kickoff with our fellow small businesses owners, and somehow managed to increase sales from last year. If only we could have our Feb and March back, we’d be having a record year. However, we were deemed ‘non-essential’.
Remember, COVID-19 didn’t shut anything down. Your local clowns did this. In our case, it was an unelected county health officer that seemingly has more power than my mayor/governor/councilman. frick you Dr Mark Wilson, Jefferson County, AL health officer.
