I addressed the comment of "I'm too exhausted to give a shite anymore" because that's exactly what the "demoralization" phase is all about. Wear people down until they're too tired to resist, while you take another inch, another foot, another mile. Eventually, the lines between right/wrong and truth/lie are so blurred that nobody knows what's what anymore, or they just accept it because they're too tired to stand their ground.
