Nextdoor is for housewives that do nothing all day but post stupid shite. Common post from nextdoor “I saw someone walking down the street in my neighborhood l, watch out”.

My small town neighborhood is a two block "L" shaped street - 50/50 black/white but everyone is cool. There is one teenage boy on the street, and he handles all the leaf raking, odd jobs, etc.

Shitty rent house right where you turn in. Last tenant was ok, new tenant is culcha and has already set up the basketball goal by the street. The street basketball appeared a few years ago, and within days there were 30 or so teens blocking the street (till the cops told them to GTFO).

One of my black neighbors (a preacher) has already told the new tenant that we're not having any of that "we block the street when we want to" b.s.

It’s time for the residents to rise up and take Shenandoah back. The day people started painting their homes blue and using plywood to fix busted windows instead of replacing the windows when it all began. You see that shite on plank road. Not in fricking Shenandoah. And then you got those homeless fricks right down the road. Something needs to be done.

We all need to meet at jones creek library and discuss this. Let’s get jasmines on the bayou to cater. How does first of the year sound?

Not what I expected for a newer development. Homes look cheaply built for costing over 300k

I got kicked off the kennelworth/Pollard area one for trolling the crazy housewives and old people. Apparently people get a little sensitive when you ask about open carrying long rifles during Halloween. God forbid I want to keep my kids safe from others

The neighborhood has a crime prevention district which means they should have had a deputy on duty making rounds during this period. Just if anyone called the fight in and if the on duty deputy had a chance to take the call.

Shenandoah area seems to still be one of the largest neighborhood crime prevention districts in the parish.

Nope. Ghetto people are the worst.

All my immediate neighbors are black and all are great people. The man next door is a retired contractor and he is constantly fixing up his house. His wife is a true gourmet cook. Everyone on our street gets along quite well, though there is an older white lady who is certifiably crazy (but harmless). She asked me one day if my neighbor was cutting smiley faces into his hedge.

ETA: My black neighbors are all responsible people who hate the ghetto rent house more than I do (as they own the houses closest to it). And, Ulysses (the retired contractor next door) is the greatest neighbor you could ever have. I had to shape up my game to be a good neighbor to him.

This thread is hilarious.

Because a house on the corner of O'Neal, which was sold to Capital City Cash Properties in 2015 because nobody wants to live on the corner of a highway, was involved in a crime scene, that means the entirety of Shenandoah is going down?

Reactionary thread is reaction
I recall at least a couple similar threads about this exact neighborhood in the last couple years

Sad state of many places in the south.

Crappy developers are churning out shite houses and apartments all over the place. When they do the schools go to shite and then the good neighborhoods go to shite when the good families go searching for better situations for their families.

Ironically, the south is the fastest growing region in the country.

I believe it. A friend just sold their house in Shenandoah because of the boom. They said they were taking this opportunity to get out while they could.

Culcha creep is inevitable when they import the trash via section 8 housing into good locales. I'd like to string up every a-hole investor who sells out to hud

So the residents...

Or...former residents who sell to trash.
