To be fair this doesn't seem like a first time offender crime.
I could be wrong though.
Thinking about it again, if it was a first time offender, the wife seems most likely suspect then.

The latest update is that the dog was a pit bull. This tells us the killer had the nuts to take on a woman at night with a pit bull. If random, seems the killer would skip the lady with the pit bull and wait for the next one. I also wonder if the pit bull got some bites on the killer. Or maybe it was the rare pit bull that doesn't have the instinct to attack an attacker.
Also, the FBI has "joined" the case.
And thirdly- all the security cameras in the area inside the park just happened to not be working that night.
