Doesn't matter what they cost to make, if they can sell every one they make for $70,000 that is what they are worth.

No doubt. You still have a bunch of tards who go to gas stations and pay $1.50 for a small bottle of water. You can get a case at a grocery store to super cheap.

The same people will buy milk, bread, red bull, and cigs from the same store though.

I'm also gonna say bottled water. Not Fiji or anything fancy but you know the Coke/Pepsi brands are essentially local tap water.

Sometimes you even see coke machines where Dasani is more expensive than coke. It’s coke, minus all the other ingredients, selling for more money.

Buddy of mine is a store manager @ Lowe's.

Biggest profits are on hardware (nuts, bolts, etc.)

Tires

Can't believe it took until the 5th page for this. There is NO WAY it should cost $150 on average for a goddamn tire.

frick.

They actually spend more on advertising than on R&D.

This article is from 2015, but I think it's only gotten worse.

glass of ice tea at a restaurant. Costs $2.50 a glass and probably costs 5¢ to make.

Unlimited refills? I'll drink what seems like a half gallon or more myself of unsweetened iced tea at a restaurant

I have a family member who sells tires.. Luckily he gives them to me at a discount rate, but they are a money maker. Also car batteries.

If you can stand dealing with the people there, get your dog beds from Stein Mart/Marshalls type stores. I got a massive one for $16.

Good one. In fact, there are a lot of pet related items that have a huge profit margin, especially depending on where you get it from.

You sure about that?

Yes. Talking strictly about a margin on a specific item, it's (retail price - cost)/retail price.

Equipment, electricity, labor, etc is not a part of that.

Overall profitablity of a business and profit margin on a particular item are completely different. You can make 90% on a certain item and still lose your arse if you pay too much in rent or labor.
