and in less than a year after opening its ports to the Chinese, entire country was brought to its knees by the Chinese virus. They just had 627 deaths in the past 24 hours. Iran also has a very close trade, weapons, and oil relationship with China.

Italy has signed up for China’s multibillion-dollar “Belt and Road Initiative”, becoming the first Western European nation to jump on board despite scepticism from its EU counterparts and Washington.

Yuck I would not be surprised to see a biotech created virus of my lifetime. If Trump would cut manufacturing from China I would buy a MAGA hat

Yep. We need to step back and reassess this whole globalism thing. Europe has fricked itself by opening itself up to the third world, and we aren't far behind.

After the tariff thingy, we are pretty much divorced from Chinese products.

Yep, it's time for the US to get back to producing more of it's goods on our soil, even if it costs a bit more.

This isn’t globalism. This is far worse. This is China colonizing the world. What most people don’t know is most of Africa is severely in debt to China and Chinese have heavy investments there, N Korea is essentially owned by China, and of course China has Hong Kong and Thailand. China is colonizing the world. This plan is literally China buying ports in foreign countries to increase its power
If you’ve ever played an expansion game like monopoly, Catan, Risk, you know taking valuable property is how you win the game. China has the money and now they’re attempting to buy all the property

Doubt it. Cheap labor trumps all. You’ll see the chamber of commerce types back to slapping the CCP on the back.

China needs to look at South Korea and Japan. I know there are huge differences in populations between those countries, but if China would just throw communism out the window, adopt basic human rights, adopt regulations (they have absolutely no regulations over there), and went full blown capitalism and some form of democracy, they would be a gigantic Japan or South Korea. They are thriving over there in Japan and South Korea because these countries realized that living like we’re in the 1600s does nothing but holds your country back from its full potential. frick the Chinese government

China owns us. Trump has been the only President to stsnd up to China.

The problem is consumers buy Chinese goods. I go out of my way to avoid them and do a really good job at it.
I had a neighbor complaining last week about not being able to get tools not made in China. I took him to my workshop which is fully outfitted with just about every tool and machine any hobby woodworker could want as well as most mechanics tools and defied him to find a Chinese tool (there are 3). The first thing out of his mouth was you don't have a cordless drill then. I took him over and pulled out two Festool Systainers and a Hilti box and said here you go. But they are expensive...
"We" have the control if we just exercise it and accept we can't have as MUCH stuff if we buy non-Chinese goods.

Good fricking answer, American quality is made in the USA everyday. I see more consumer electronics moving towards South Korea & Japan, both manufacture some now w/ Japan being the superior product. SK is coming on strong with KIA & Hyundai.
However, America comes back strong after this with meds, medical supplies, Med equipment, steel & bigger farm raised American agriculture.

So you think this could be a test run?

This retard thinks our ports aren’t open to China.
Walk around your house and check some labels jackass.

China will ruin Italy and turn it into a dirty communist hell hole. As long as the Italians keep getting paid they'll justify everything like American politicians do.
Posted on 3/20/20 at 7:25 pm to Phat Phil
As much as I hate the EU I will be very curious as to how they act on this? Will they force Italy change and not sell out to China or will they show how weak they are and cower at Chinese feet?
