I’m from Bossier, not a huge deal. Flying out of here in a bit. Just thought I’d snap a pic of the world’s premier long range bomber.

We landed a few days ago in Albuquerque and the base had two E-6 Mercury’s. If those have to be scrambled the world is about to end.

Surprisingly, the B-52 does not carry the heaviest bombloads. The B-1 does a smidgen better, at least going by the numbers released to the public.

was built to carry the nuke, doesn't have to have that great of a capacity, although it has plenty

Here’s a fact for you. They used to have a radar controlled gun in the tail to shoot at Migs . Figured out they didn’t need it and removed it. To keep the weight balance correct, the back of the plane is filled with cement.

Can’t beat the b52.
Used to see them at the holiday in Dixie at Barksdale. Amazing machinery.

50 something by now. Wouldn’t be surprised to see them in action close to somewhere in the 70s.
There would be something some older but they were destroyed as part of some agreement with the Soviet’s.
