re: It still blows my mind that a regular, new truck is $80k

The days of rapid depreciation are gone. And with manufacturers cutting ICE to push out electric, we are not long for something never before seen: used car appreciation.

Wheras the "luxury" brands (at least around me) will come pick up the vehicle, loan you a similar vehicle to the one you have, provide snacks and drinks, etc..
What luxury truck brands are in the 80k range?

It’s not even debatable. No one outside of your local southern trash town looks at a GMC, whether Denali or not, and thinks “luxury”

Gotta pay top dollar for that fake plastic leather and plastic chrome

with the amount of $80k vehicles on the road you'd think money is raining from the sky when in reality most of them have a insane monthly payment and paying $10k+ in interest with loans over 5 years just to appear rich

The used market is absurd. I just sold a 2011 F-150 Lariat with 165,000 miles on it that needed a new main seal and steering rack for $15K to a dealership. They will fix it and resell for $20k no problem.
So the bubble is still present? Thinking about upgrading into a new RAM or GMC

Couple of weeks ago, I traded in my base model 2015 GMC Sierra, that had 88k miles on it. When I say base, it’s plain as frick. A dealership offered me $18,500 for it sight unseen. Ended up trading it for a 2021 Toyota Tundra that as all the bells and whistles.

No shite. Seems like people walk in the dealership and buy as much vehicle as they can possibly get a loan on.

Absolutely. I don’t even know why these tards are getting offended.

$81,080
Using Will Cover's techniques, I can get that for $80,995.
My 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 was discounted $7k when bought new and today retails for $5k less than I paid for it.
New and used auto and truck prices right now are insane.

I can get what I want: a fricking truck and not a damned rolling computer.
A simple 454 Chevrolet from that era will also still be one of the few rigs still running in the apocalypse. Provided you can keep the rest of it from rusting away before then.

First thing you should do is shop Chevy instead of GMC. Same trucks for a little cheaper.

Meh.
My truck is a RAM and I’m completely happy with it. I don’t pull campers or boats with it

Baws are going to be buying trucks worth more than their house.

Last year I burned up the motor in my dodge. (My fault)
I put a factory rebuilt motor in it for 4500 installed with a 3 year warranty.
My plan was to get a new truck but every time I drive by the lot I just ask myself why? Then keep going.

I bought a Ram 2500 last year and love it. That wasn’t a shot at the brands.
The “prayers sent” was in reference to looking to buy a new truck right now

EXACTLY why I bought it. Less expensive and FAR less tech. The MFer still has a tape deck (that works) and the little orange needle that moves when you push the buttons. AM/FM baby! The only draw back is the power windows. Wish they were hand crank......
Everyone says that the EFI is the one upgrade I should make to it. However, that's adding a computer to the system and I'm not sure I want that. Probably just tune the carb in and be done with it.
