If everyone is wearing a mask you don't have to worry about droplets reaching your eyes.

Oh well I guess if we just all wear masks then it won't ever be transmitted and the virus will be gone in two weeks.

That is, indeed, part of it.

The OP does have some valid observations......but he's also a bit misguided/angry.

The reason the OP is seeing more people wearing masks is likely because more people personally know someone who had a bad experience with the virus.

Masks likely provide SOME protection for wearers and those around them. There is significant scientific data that points to this, from limiting droplets to decreasing viral inoculum. Even if it's a 1-2% less chance of being infected, that can make a difference across the population. It's also a small price to pay for possibly reducing viral inoculum and increasing one's odds of a milder infection.

That's not to say I necessarily believe in government mandates. We don't need 100% compliance.

Your eyes are also receptors to droplets. If visible OR invisible droplets reach your covered nose and mouth, then they're also reaching your eyes.

Don’t say this loud enough for our government to hear it. They’ll start a goggle mandate.

Droplets, which is how you transmit the virus , can be transmitted through your eyes, dumbass. Get it?

If everyone wears a mask, then...

there should not be any droplets in the air to reach the eyes.

If everyone would quit crying and wear a mask, then those teardrops would quit infecting people.

Just wear your damn mask. It's only for two weeks until we flatten the curve.

It's not a ruse, it's a bio weapon from China.

I kinda believe that.....I strongly doubt people eating bats caused this. I think they got sloppy and it got loose. Hell, WHO was in the middle of chastizing them for running bad labs.

Friend,

There is absolutely no excuse anyone should be wearing surgical masks and those disgusting neoprene face covers any longer. We are getting flush with N95 masks and N95 masks are very effective at preventing the spread of this virus.

Bona Fide Masks has some excellent N95 masks at a reasonable price. With coupon code LOVE there is a 20% savings! That brings the cost down to 75 cents per mask if you purchase 100.

Friends, these masks make all the difference in the world. If we had mass usage of them we would squash this pandemic! So if you are looking for gifts for family, friends, strangers, or office coworkers you could do hardly better than N95 masks.

I just purchased 1000 to handout the streets! Oh what fun it is.

Yours,
TulaneLSU

My coworker’s husband spent three weeks in the ICU with Covid and died on Thanksgiving Day at the age of 35. Had three young daughters who will now grow up without their father. While I’m not really “scared to death” of the virus, it is worth taking it seriously because that same situation could literally happen to anyone at any time. It boggles my mind how many people think this is a hoax. I certainly hope you or nobody you love dies from this virus. Just wear the mask....such a minor inconvenience. Get over yourself internet tough guy. I really doubt you even have any qualifications to be telling us about the science of these droplets anyway.

The govt has sufficiently scared enough people to vote for more control over their lives.

Elections have consequences.
