And about an hour with a Sawzall would make this one fit too.

Yes, get the Black Edition, it drives a lot better than the minivan it’s based on

You chose to live there with an HOA.

So, you bought a truck that violates the HOA rules in your neighborhood. Do you see the problem here? The 'issues' are not with the HOA. The 'issues' are with you.

Why did you buy a truck that wouldn't fit?

Back it in as far as it will go and leave the front end hanging out.

Why anyone would by their own free will sign up and pay good money to live in a place that tells you what you can and cannot do with your home property is insane to me. You are getting exactly what you deserve IMO.

Our old neighbor tried to get an HOA going in our small neighborhood. I voted for it. Why? Because I had neighbors with a dozen ugly lawn ornaments at one house, another with a self-installed driveway section that looked like a cracked helipad, and a front entrance that went to hell because the builder stopped paying to have it kept up. These are solid $200k+ homes....a nice middle class neighborhood in exurbia. No one wants to see the largest investment of their lives devalued by trashy neighbors.

It's insurance to protect you from shitty neighbors.

yep

I have a house in one and the rules are 1 page long, basicaaly 80% brick, no copycat plans, no rentals, and a few traffic rules, I pay $150 per year for road and damn maintanance.

In 16 years I have had zero issues nor aware of anyone else having any.

Start a rumor that you served 15 years in prison for voluntary manslaughter. The result of an argument with a HOA president.

There is an underlying problem that permeates throughout America:

Garages have been built too small forever.

Study the rules. Figure out the most annoying and obnoxious thing you can get away with within the rules, and do it.

I get your point, but my neighborhood has a 10 foot brick wall surrounding it with large security gates. There are also multiple parks, lakes, walking paths. There has to be a mechanism for maintaining all of this. They also set the bar for architectural standards and quality construction. So there is some value.

Tell the HOA lady that if she doesnt back off, you'll post on Nextdoor about how she called you the "n-word" and repeatedly said it.

Doesn't really matter if it's true.

My first question would be, what does the HOA rules say for this.

Then if you honestly want to be petty, make the HOA force you to pay. It’s not a quick process and takes a good bit of legal fees.

Then have your lawyer make the legal process take long and cost the HOA more money.
