Why would this bother Muslims? They don’t value women and children.

Israel’s ambassador @AmbHerzog just told @abbydphillip: “We know there are Americans among the hostages.” Horrible.

Pretty much exactly what Hamas and Iran want. Stoke those fires and get the moderate Arab countries to see hundreds of photos and videos of dead and wounded Palestinian women and kids.
The U.S. Carrier strike force heading for the eastern med says otherwise. We are in position to “encourage” nations like Syria and Iran to sit this one out. Iran is run by a bunch of cowards who won’t do shite. If they do, Israel will send over a few dozen ballistic missiles to Tehran.

Iran may have already done enough.

Israel’s operational objective should be fire bomb the area until Hamas begs for them to stop. And then they should keep going. Annihilate Hamas.
Easier said than done until the get the held Israeli hostages.

Also:
Others quoting UAE, as well.

UAE openly criticises Hamas for attacking Israeli villages
"Hamas attacks on Israeli towns and villages and the firing of rockets at population centers are a dangerous escalation” says UAE Foreign Ministry

Yep. They will have a hostage ready to throw into every building the IDF "roof knocks" for the next couple months.
They have no problem leaving their own women and children inside to be killed they will not think twice about sacrificing hostages.

I have a feeling that once Israel enters, they’ll never leave.
They tried to move out before and even forcibly removed its citizens from 21 settlements in Gaza along with removing some in West Bank as well back in 2005.
Only time attacks on Israeli soldiers and settlements were forbidden.

On August 8, 2005, Haaretz quoted a top Palestinian Authority religious cleric, Sheikh Jamal al-Bawatna, the mufti of the Ramallah district, in a fatwa (a religious edict) banning shooting attacks against Israeli security forces and settlements, out of concern they might lead to a postponement of the pullout. According to Haaretz, this is the first time that a Muslim cleric has forbidden shooting at Israeli forces.

BREAKING — Iran helped plan Hamas’s surprise attack on Israel and gave the green light for the assault at a meeting in Beirut last Monday, Hezbollah and Hamas officials tell WSJ
quote:
Quds force leaders, including Qaani, met Hamas and Hezbollah biweekly to discuss this weekend’s attack since August.
“Qaani has attended some of those meetings along with Hezbollah’s leader Hassan Nasrallah, Islamic Jihad leader al-Nakhalah, and Saleh al-Arouri, Hamas’s military chief.”
WSJ has the exclusive, but it is paywalled for me.

Anyone with any sense knew Iran was involved, the question is, is can Israel deal with it without tactical nuclear weapons? They have every right to do so, but hopefully it doesn’t come to that.

If there really are 2000+ hostages scattered end to end across Gaza, Israel's going to just have to accept that most of them are lost.

Israel doesn’t handle hostages the way we do.
If those hostages die they die, but they aren’t going to sit on their thumbs because of a few human shields.

The biggest thing highlighted by that piece is the colossal intelligence failure that led to this attack.

To some extent you are correct, but the formula changes a little bit if there are a sizable number of American, German, and other European citizens from that music festival

That MO may be complicated by the fact that there are quite a few international hostages involved, including Americans.

This is the cog in the wheel for the Israelis. This would be a WW1 style bombardment if not.

Does it?
Or is their calculus that if/when Hamas pulls the trigger or their actions result in dead Americans/Germans/etc that those nations will be far more accepting of whatever brutal tactics the Israelis decide on in Gaza?
