Can someone tell me why Hamas agreed to those 2 specific hostages free?
Of course, I’m very glad that they did but what motivated Hamas to do that? It seems that 2 pretty females so would be a high value hostage and they didn’t receive anything in return that I’m aware of.

I read that Shaun King was involved. No way that crusty wanna-be was involved in a hostage transfer from Hamas. I refuse to believe that.

Really. I want to read about that. Before long Gravy will be in there claiming credit
As far as the supplies, have they started to distribute ? Is the UN still there ? Is it going to be them and Hamas ? The head Hamas guy used to impose a 20% tax on goods smuggled from Egypt through tunnels.

Well, either lots and lots of moolah or Hamas believes the United States is ready to tag into this war. Freeing a couple of American hostages may stave that off for awhile.
If you're like me and believe the United States is ready to throw in, then you have to wonder if releasing these women disappoints the American war machine. It's hard to justify war when Hamas is steadily trickling out our hostages.
This could be the Hamas strategy to keep America out of the war. Every once in a while, release an American hostage. Doing so sorta takes away a reason for us to engage in direct combat. Killing American hostages is really the only way the Government could get any traction in selling another Middle Eastern corporate war.

Just think of the ensuing comedy though if he were. This thread and the poli-board would flip the frick out.

Agreed. Hamas does not want America cramming a 12 gauge up their arse.

No they don't and teasing us with the occasional hostage release mitigates that risk. But if like me, you believe the American Government wants war, then trickling out hostages complicates that.

I don't know, no one that is talking likely knows for sure. The Rafa crossing was finally opened to aid not too long after the release, though.
The Israeli media coverage of the release has been notable in that almost universally the headlines read, "The Americans have negotiated the release of two hostages through Quatar". They are careful not to portray in any way that they (Israel) is involved with negotiating with terrorists.

Qatar wanted them to do it it keep their status as official peace makers neutral. You have to remember that all all hamas big time leaders are roughing it out at the Four Seasons in Qatar.

I think Hamas is going to slow play the release of hostages. A couple every other day or so just to try to delay the ground invasion. They know if Israel is going to get more stink treatment by the media if they attack while “diplomacy is working”.
ETA - they just announced they are going to release 2 more tomorrow.

I guess all that inbreeding has an impact (not being racist just stating a fact)!

Look no further than Alabama for additional evidence.

Think they are worse than Alabama. Last study I saw said that over 44% of Palestinians marry blood relatives. They attribute the populations high level of congenital birth defects on this inbreeding.

So, are they ever gonna fricking get on with this or what.

Think the US is pressuring Israel to hold off with hope they can negotiate the release of hostages. Plus they want the westerners stuck in Gaza across to Egypt. I would go ahead and go because the hostages are a good as dead.
