I have had a good life. And I do believe in God, I just believes he accepts all people as long as they have lived good honest lives. Im glad you have changed because it sounds like you went through some shite I have never had to deal with

Here is a thought: Could the ISIS video have been faked?

Wait, you went to prison for murder? In wartime? How are you posting? Serious questions.

That is true, neither did I. But given special effects, and if those ISIS fools have any sort of computer training, it is possible. That said, what if that is all some sort of set up?

I don't see the benefit of faking a beheading. I'm option to suggestions, though.

Just like any moron in this thread who actually believes that. It never ceases to amaze me how dumb some people actually are in this world. If you think he is in his right frame of mind after two years in captivity, then I don't know what to tell you. Stupid seems to be epidemic today.

Best fake your own death ever?

I don't think they fake it. My guess is he had problems getting the head off, and there's no 2nd take to get it right

Ah, much more likely scenario. Didn't think of that.

The point of the purge was everything was legal. Caused mass unemployment for defense attorneys

I don't either, but a co-worker brought up that point. Say, for example, it wasn't real or put out by ISIS but some entity wanting the US to enter a wider conflict. My co-worker thinks it is an Iraqi disguised.

Yeh, Im having trouble wrapping my head around the fact that someone who commits murder is all good as long as he "finds God", but the little Hindu over there in India who never committed a major crime and has helped countless people through multiple charities and foundations is going to enjoy eternal damnation in the pits of hell. Seems a little, what should I say, unfair?

Well what does the Scripture say about this?
quote:

Matthew 12:31-32 (NIV)

31 And so I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. 32 Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come

And there is nothing we can do to save ourselves. No matter how many "good works" we do or how charitable we are, we're still sinners...

quote:

Romans 3:23
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

So being that we're all sinners, we all, even the best of us, are subject to pay the penalty of sin....

quote:

Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death,

That's where Jesus came into the picture. You see to cover sin, there must be a blood sacrifice, pure and spotless blood. Our own blood is tainted by sin, but the blood of Christ is not....

quote:

1 Peter 1
17 Since you call on a Father who judges each person’s work impartially, live out your time as foreigners here in reverent fear. 18 For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. 20 He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. 21 Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God.

quote:

Luke 22
17 After taking the cup, he gave thanks and said, “Take this and divide it among you. 18 For I tell you I will not drink again from the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.”

19 And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.”

20 In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.

There is no works that we can do to earn this gift, all we can do is accept His mercy...

quote:

John 3:16
or God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

And as I posted earlier, this is one area that there is only one of two things possible, either you believe and accept or you don't...

quote:

John 14:6
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

I know this does not fit with modern logic. And I know all this will be mocked incessantly by many here who think that anyone who believes any of this is a simpleton and/or a hick, but...

quote:

Romans 1
18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.

24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25 They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.

26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

28 Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31 they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. 32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

And for the record, I'm as bad or worse than anyone from a sinful standpoint.
