And does she work less hours than you?

Do you feel like a loser?

Why feel like a loser? I'd love for this to be the case.

Wife is a surgeon.

I wish it was.

She does

If she made twice what I made, I'd not feel like a loser. I'd feel like a guy with a whole lot more money in the bank than I have right now. Hell, I might even go ahead and retire.

If it was double mine and she worked less than me, I'm pretty sure that would be called winning.

I doubt my fiance's will be double but she will surpass my salary at some point. She's a Chemical Engineer. I have zero problems with it. In fact, I am proud of her for her career success to this point. Just means we can buy a better boat

Including bonuses about 3 times, and going up, and I make pretty good money. She just got a promotion and we will be moving to KC at the beginning of the year. Doesn't really bother me a bit, she is super smart and a hard arse worker, I'm proud of her.

I was hoping to stay at home with the kids but we still need the good insurance that my work provides. Plus I'm fairly flexible so that when we own the practice (next year) where she works, I'll be able to help out with the finances.

I spend her money like it's going out of style. She supports my hunting and fishing exploits.

I really don't understand why people would be bothered if their wife made more money than them. If my wife made double my salary I'd be ecstatic. She actually has the potential to do that when she gets out of school and it doesn't bother me in the least.

I guess I could see some insecurity if I were a blue collar worker and my wife was a professional, but that isn't the case for me.
