Store bought candy at Christmas is trashy.

Homemade sweets or nothing at all.

Use that store bought shite at Halloween.

Yes. But I have often wondered as to the fate of all the leftover, unsold candy from every holiday. And is it possible that all the fatties really do scarf it all up?

Second question. In our multicultural and Capitalist America, why is there not more retail pandering to the assorted religious interests and ethnicities by the prominent hawking of such possible items as candy for Ramadan or Buddhist or Hindu or Jewish or Wiccan or atheist notable days? Is gluttony and excess reserved for only the nominally "Christian" culture among us?

Halloween and Valentine's Day? The former is a Wiccan holiday and the latter is the feast day of a very minor, obscure saint, with no significance in terms of the liturgical calendar.
