Nice rationalization. Two wrongs make a right, I guess?

But here's one big difference: The "minimal damage to the Capitol" was incited by a sitting President who refuses to accept that he legitimately lost reelection and essentially used his influence as President to rile up a mixed group of conspiracy theorists, idiot followers, and white supremacists to trespass and try to intimidate elected officials.

This is why you, as a democrat, continue to remain ignorant. People like you are why this country will never unite

I'm 75 years old and I have never seen America even close to this. The things that are happening in America beginning with Obama, is tribe/class designations to separate and divide Americans, and yes it is on purpose. Go read how TOTALITARIANISM began in Russia following the famine (our covid19 pandemic equivalent)in 1890's. People from that country and time say what is happening in America is exactly what happened in Russia, when Communism took over. Tear down everything...history, culture, everything and start over by pitting the wealthy vs the worker class. America is in deep trouble, and the next 4 years will be make or break America's forever future.

The rise of identity politics, critical theory, and other similar garbage destroyed this country

You saw things much worse than this but you just don’t remember because they didn’t impact you personally.

The best thing about is she doesn’t even live in this country. I don’t post on FB but I think she may have been tipped off on a post I said about her on this site a few months ago.

The differences in response to the capitol building incident compared to the blm riots is a perfect example.

That's not the important difference.

The important distinction is that BLM riots were damaging inner cities and areas around different towns. The Capitol building directly put the political whores in danger.

That is why the response is so vastly different. They're scared. They aren't threatened by inner city riots.

Well said. I think you and the post you are responding to are both correct, but it’s important to remember these politicians haven’t been used to actually seeing the public anger boil over to the point of fearing physical harm and are going to react more harshly because of it

They're so insulated and protected from reality that the actual thought of being in danger is now alien to them. It was a wakeup call and will be met with a massive response.

I am shocked at how many corporations have taken political stands lately. It used to be understood that that was the quickest way to turn off half of your customers, now they fear not taking a stand more.

I'm not shocked because they know that people on the left demand ideological purity while people on the right are much more live and let live.

Ummmm, without question. This the most divided we’ve been since Jim Crow.

As opposed to the billions and billions of dollars in damage, along with far more deaths and injuries, caused during the summer? All over this myth of systemic racism perpetuated by the MSM and elected officials which include the president and vp elect?

Serious question- can someone prove that George Floyd died simply because he was black? Because that fairytale is the same as the dominion voting machine conspiracies.

Its not simply the division. It's the rabid virulence of the left toward anyone who disagrees with them on anything.

Yep, no hatred and division from the conservative folks at all. frick off. You are delusional. Both sides extreme are dug in and bear responsibility.

In my heart of hearts I do think this escalation did ramp up big time with the progressive social movements associated with the Tumblr echo chambers circa 2014, but there are clearly radicalized factions in both sides now taking aim at one another while people in the middle are bewildered at how fast it is degrading.

But it also doesn’t help that the people in control of the majority of the flow of information on the internet seem to align themselves with a set of ideals that seemingly disenfranchises half of the political spectrum.

I know it seems I am poking at one side more than the other, and I don’t mean to do this out or any malice on my end, but I do feel like this spiral was kinda started on the left, reinforced on both sides, and the current power paradigm seemingly benefits the left.

Possibly, but I was born in the 80s. I dont think any of this is close to divisiveness in the 60s.

The extremes are receiving all of the attention right now, but people are quickly choosing sides and being convinced that the extremes represent everyone. It's definitely getting worse.

Worst I have ever seen it. And I am old enough to vaguely remember the late 60s and early 70s.

The media caused all of this. Writing narratives their globalist masters tell them to further their agenda.

Yep..and I go back another 20yrs than you. Between the media and the Liberals, it's never ever been this bad.
It's gotten so bad that it's infected families to the point of many breaking apart. Way to go Democrats..you got your way!
