Had MySpace bought Facebook, there is no way to know if Facebook would have grown to what it is today.
MySpace could’ve absorbed it and continued to suck.
I think Zuckerberg has the special sauce.
This.
MySpace didn't have the same vision as Facebook.. Which is why FB made MySpace irrelevant.

Gary Kidall, the developer of CP/M which was much more mature than DOS at the time, could have been the face of the most dominant software company today. What's to say that Seattle Computer Products would have been like Microsoft or if IBM bought the OS outright, been able to maintain it? Would IBM develop it into OS/2 without Microsoft's help?
Would have been interesting if that had happened.
Edit: Not to say Microsoft would have not been a major software company, probably not as dominant. They still had a lot of licensing agreements with their BASIC interpreter and produced software for other platforms, including the Mac in its early days.

Yahoo, said no to buying Google for 1 million

Why?
Buying controlling interest in a business does not mean you have to work it. Granted there's no telling, he might have forced adds on it too soon. Regardless, I think Facebook would still be almost as big. It just seems to be an addictive platform (which is why I never used it).

Whoever bought MySpace for $580M might be the answer to OP’s question.
Or maybe the natives who sold Manhattan for some butt plugs and cock rings.

Definitely one of biggest missed opportunities ever.
But I'd also like to nominate Kim Bassinger buying a whole town and going bankrupt.
