If you have two big dogs in your backyard but you keep them in kennels all day in the yard is that inhumane? Not big chain link kennels that they can walk in but plastic ones with holes that only allows them to barely sit up or lay down.
I know they are in there from around 5:30am to 5:30pm. Not sure if they sleep out there too.
Kennels are in the shade but it is 96 degrees outside.
Yard is entirely fenced.
Do these puppers need me to call Animal Control or are they ok to be resigned to a life of doggie veal?

Probably allowed but definitely an a-hole move.

Yes, most pet owners are inhumane. Just cage up an animal for your own on-demand personal satisfaction, sounds awesome for the animal.

I hope you at least have fresh water and food for them. But why leave them in a kennel outside? It probably gets hot as frick in there,

Yea I’m not an animal person at all but even I wouldn’t do that. Definitely an a-hole move.

I would call animal control
Depending on where you live there may be size requirements for outdoor kennels
Are kennels closed or are they just for them to get in out of the sun / weather?
ETA
If they don’t have access to fresh water I’d call for sure

A friend of mine had bird dogs that he kept like that. I'd let them out once a day to play for an hour and feed them, they seemed happy.
Nevermind, knock on his door and talk to him before you call animal control

In a small kennel, sounds cruel. To me, if a dog had a backyard to run, water, and shade, that’s fine for an all day deal.

That's pretty fricking trashy. Probably bought from a breeder too.

What's the inhumane part? The kennels or the fact that they have to sleep outside?
Posted on 5/28/19 at 4:47 pm to Sir Drinksalot
Not man enough to knock on their door at 5:45 today and discuss it?

Yes, they are closed kennels. I can't tell if they have food or water but whenever I walk by they go ballistic barking and jumping all over in the kennels so I would think they spill it if it is in there.

Need to do it Mexican style and haul in a broken down van and chain them to the wheels with a 4 ft chain

But to elaborate on this, I have a family member who is Autistic who keeps a shite load of animals in his back yard, mostly chickens, rabbits and dogs. Every summer he has a bunch of the animals die because he cannot take enough care of them during the intense summer months, or he just forgets to feed them for a couple days bc he is too busy playing video games and forgets than animals need food and water. I feel super bad for the animals, basically there for the entertainment of a mentally handicap human and are taken care of when he feels like it. They do make him really happy though, so its a dilemma on where I stand.

sitting in the kennels all day when they are fenced in a big backyard.
actually, I don't know if they come inside at night or not. I would feel better about them out there at night when its not as hot.

When in doubt, err on the side of caution. I'd at least bring it up to the neighbor and if nothing is done call Animal Control.
