Mother impersonates son through text message communication for the purposes of deceiving father into believing the son does not want to see him, with the goal being to get the father to give up custodial time and cause him extreme mental anguish and suffering.

Criminal? Or just a-hole?

Probably not criminal, but devastating in front of a family court judge.

Not in LA. For it to be a criminal penalty here the fraud statute revolved around theft.

I do believe the civil law/definition is different though.

How can you prove it’s the mother?

Anyone could unlock someone’s phone if they know the password and send a text to one of their contacts.

More than one text. Over a period of 8 months. The mother using her own phone claiming to be the son, as the father in the past had been accustomed to the son actually using the mothers phone to have brief text conversations with him.

Part of a larger pattern of deception over 5+ years that had usually involved mother giving false 2nd accounts of the sons statements.

Well there's the problem. Whatever happened to actually speaking to someone on a phone when you want to have a conversation with them?

Three very important questions…

1. What did you do to piss off your *ex* ole lady?

2. Does she have any tattoos?

3. Does she do butt stuff?

Rotflmao. I suspect mother figured her scheme would not have worked using voice. You would have to ask her to be sure.

If there is legit proud of that, the dad would tee off on the mother head in family court.

I know family court can suck for fathers but most judges now days do not play with stuff like that.

A parent pulls some under handed stuff like that, the judges usually come down pretty hard on them because it’s about the kids interest and not the parents

Need both sides of story.

But it does seem like ex-wives with shared custody of children are just rotten people.

Sorry.

Isn't your whole family full of attorneys? Ask them.
