Global warming. All the ice caps melted and flooded the world

It makes a lot of sense
quote:I think you are wrong. Most people understand that there was countless times throughout history where people's ENTIRE world was flooded. Has nothing to do with some GAWD.
I think many people don't want to accept the flood because they would have to acknowledge God.

It also forces you to consider a final Judgment day.

Earth's Underground Ocean
quote:
After decades of searching scientists have discovered that a vast reservoir of water, enough to fill the Earth’s oceans three times over, may be trapped hundreds of miles beneath the surface, potentially transforming our understanding of how the planet was formed.

Do you feel cool when you spell god "gawd"?... Maybe that's why you're a bartender?

Forget him fearing God. He fears hard work.

Damn I thought this was going to be a Hollow Earth thread.

several stories of evidence of a great flood. This link is ABC News and is one of many.
Define "great flood".
The Mississippi has a shite ton in the Mid-West.
These days it's a "small" area.
But until the 1900's, they were huge. When your world consisted of forty miles each direction, most of your world was flooded with water during those.

See my earlier post about it being the whole world to Noah, but not necessarily the whole world.

Well. I will leave it at that.

Clever to bury the religion thread under a nondescript title. Have an upvote for ingenuity

It is not free water.

Not really. Most ancient cultures settled near water be it lakes, rivers, or oceans. It's not a coincidence that most ancient cultures also have flood myths in their religions and histories.

The Bible frequently uses "whole world" to refer to a specific region. Basically because of what you said--"world" meant the same thing as "land" or "region".
