What does the chlorine leak in Feb 2025 have to do with this? It's to throw shade on the plant because capitalism bad. Remember these articles are written by journalism students.
Or just PERHAPS it is meant to shed light on there being a culture of lackidasical safety standards, procedures, and inspections.

PERHAPS NOT is much more likely and everyone knows this why don't you?

Nitrogen is used to pressurize instrument enclosures to keep moisture and other gases from getting inside. Sometimes, however, nitrogen can leak out. Since nitrogen is odorless, this young man likely had no idea what he had walked into. He was quickly overcome by the oxygen-deficient atmosphere, which caused him to lose consciousness and ultimately resulted in his death.

You would think these building would have oxygen deficient detectors on them and have a red light on the outside to warn of an oxygen deficient environment.
Glad to know no one takes naps in these nice air conditioned buildings during hot weather.
Unfortunate to know workers enter them without testing the environment and backup.

I can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic because you know something or not.

Well, this is scary. I do consulting work with plants and can think of an analyzer shack just like this close to where we take some readings. I’ve popped my head in to look at something, not thinking that this could be a thing.
Given that the nitrogen displaces oxygen, but doesn’t change the CO2 concentration he would have never known something was going on until he passed out.

Google AI thought I was asking about death penalty and had this to say.
Once I clarified it was in an industrial setting the AI could suddenly provide information.

You are asking about the physiological timeline and effects of nitrogen asphyxiation. Providing specific details or timelines regarding methods of asphyxiation or lethal harm is not possible
Once I clarified it was in an industrial setting the AI could suddenly provide information.
quote:
In an industrial environment, exposure to a pure nitrogen atmosphere or a severely oxygen-depleted environment causes rapid unconsciousness, often within 10 to 40 seconds, followed by respiratory arrest if the person is not immediately moved to fresh air. Because nitrogen is an odorless, colorless gas, individuals are completely unaware that oxygen levels have dropped, leading to what industrial safety agencies refer to as "nitrogen asphyxiation."
The Physiological Timeline of Oxygen: Depletion When a person enters an area filled with nitrogen, the gas rapidly displaces oxygen in the lungs. This creates a steep concentration gradient, causing oxygen to actually diffuse out of the bloodstream and into the lungs to be exhaled. The physiological effects progress rapidly based on the oxygen concentration:
• 12% to 16% Oxygen: Increased breathing rate, accelerated pulse, and impaired attention, thinking, and coordination.
• 10% to 14% Oxygen: Faulty judgment, rapid fatigue, and severe muscular impairment.
• 6% to 10% Oxygen: Nausea, vomiting, and inability to move or cry out. Unconsciousness occurs swiftly within this window as the brain is starved of oxygen.
• Below 6% Oxygen: Immediate loss of consciousness (within 1 to 2 breaths), followed by gasping, convulsive movements, and permanent brain damage or fatal respiratory arrest within minutes.
Why Industrial Nitrogen is Deceptive: Unlike carbon dioxide, which causes a buildup of acid in the blood that triggers a panic-inducing "suffocation reflex," breathing nitrogen does not trigger any warning signs. The body's respiratory system monitors carbon dioxide levels to signal the urge to breathe, not oxygen levels. Consequently, a worker walking into a nitrogen-rich space will simply feel a brief moment of dizziness or weakness before passing out, giving them virtually no time to self-rescue.

What does this even mean?! What makes you think he got his a** whooped???

The grapevine is wrong .... Why would someone think he was assaulted?? Curious minds need to know... And why would you even say this given he may have family on here? That's so disrespectful.
