I bought a $60 HP printer recently and it comes with free ink for life (automatically shipped when levels are low) as long as I do not print more than 15 pages a month. If I print more, it's $1 per 10 pages.

This is a great deal for my household - first time I've been happy with a printer in my life.

I had a terrible printer in college that almost cost me a class. It would randomly not print, and I would restart it, my computer, etc over and over until it magically would work.

That day I thought hitting print a few hours before having to walk my paper over would be plenty of time, but nope.

You pups must not have the experience of receiving faxes on thermal paper.

McDonald's shake machine

I ditched the bubble and ink jet printers years ago and only use a b/w laser jet printer. Toner is way cheaper and easier to deal with than inK cartridges. If I need something printed in color (like photos) I pay a lab to print them. Color printers need to be used frequently to keep the ink from drying out and ruining the print head. Let the labs handle that headache.

Just when you think you finally found one that doesn't give you problems, it spits some BS error message that can't be troubleshooted despite going 20 pages deep in a google search. Can we please get Elon working on one?

They sucked in the 90s and they still suck. Almost everything else about computing has gotten better. The OS is better, USB ports make things easy, drivers take care of themselves, etc etc.

But I can't get a USB printer to work half the time (plugged into USB because it decided to shite the wireless bed).

This was me until a few years ago and we needed one in the house. Picked up a Brother laserjet printer and it’s been rock solid. You can pick up toner cartridges for cheap off of Amazon.

I've been through almost all the major brands over the past few years. Finally found one that, thus far, has been at least adequate:

A little pricey up front, but have had it for a year and aren't even close to needing more ink yet.

Plus, Shaq likes it, so there's that.

If there is, it is likely something made by AT&T.
