Thats gotta be one hell of a sea wall to stop 40-60ft waves.
My Pops worked off of Main Pass 299 for Freeport when Opal came around. That cajun sum bitch lived in Plaquemines for Betsy and Camille but he was shook as frick when he came home after that 7/7.

Sure it could. If it were tall enough and strong enough, it could completely divide the atmosphere, resulting in totally different weather on either side.
Of course it would be more expensive than repairing 100,000 years worth of hurricane damage.

Nah, lets just put a bunch of giant fans in the Gulf to blow the hurricanes towards Mexico. Then there would constantly be plenty of construction and repair work to be done in Mexico which would prevent cheap illegal immigrant laborers from coming to the US for work. More jobs for US citizens, fixes illegal immigration, and prevents hurricanes. I'll start writing my Nobel Prize acceptance speech now

Like it could go around Florida all the way to Galveston about say 100 miles off the coast with little doors and stuff to take boats in and out but it would stop any major storm from wreaking places
