Is there anything more pathetic than a Man staying with a Woman that has cheated on him?

A friend/coworker told me that his wife had an affair.
He was torn on what to do and asked my opinion.
I told him that I would be serving divorce papers before the ink was dry.
A few days later he told me that they were going to try to work it out, maybe go to counseling.

As a guy I just don't understand how you could possibly stay with a cheater.
Why would you ever want to share the same bed with her again, touch her again ?
How would you expect her to ever respect you again?

If I ever get married I will make it abundantly clear to my future wife that if she ever cheats on me I am gone.
No amount of tears, regret, begging will get me to stay.
Just so she knows up front.

I think a lot of women think "If he finds out I will just turn on the tears etc., he isn't going anywhere".
I hope it works out for him but I don't know how he wouldn't spend the rest of his life feeling like he's her little bitch.
