We've done this thread like 10 times.

I don't get it, but is it really that much worse than obsessing over where 18 year olds go to college, comic books, sci-fi, fantasy football, etc.?

We all know the type, heavily picked on weird guy/girl from school... usually fat. I do not understand how these people spend copious amounts of money going to these overrated places meant for children. Even worse are the ones who decide to make a career out of it and are content flipping burgers dressed like an a-hole in an amusement park. Usually these people flood your Facebook feed with pictures of them with Mickey Mouse, keep in mind these people are in their late 20’s. What is wrong with these people? Can the ot shed some light on this?

You should google "disneybounding"

Yes, the person that worries too much about what others are doing when it has no real impact on his own life.

Where would you have interest in walking 25 miles if not in Florida?

They are nearly as bad as grown men being overly obsessed with 18-23 year old men playing football 12 times a year. They drop $1000's of dollars on the event. They are usually fatties, failed at the sport in HS, and will bomb your FB page with their tailgate photos, shitty food, and crappy reactions to the outcome.

See, it's all in perspective.

The OT is disproportionately filled with people who devote 60% of their families' yearly budgets to Disney trips, so as expected, the OP is going over like a lead balloon

I've been once and never care to go again. I'm not really a theme park guy though. Not my thing at all. I'm glad my daughter has outgrown that phase.

I get going to Disney every once in a while if that's your thing. Hell I've been three times. Once at 6, again at 10, and the last time when I was 14 b/c of my younger siblings. It was fun.

What I don't get are the people who spend every single vacation there. They don't go anywhere else. Every vacation is to Orlando for Disney World.

If it makes them happy, fine. I just don't understand it. It's not like it's a cheap vacation. I wouldn't take every single vacation I ever had to any one locale no matter what it was though.

I work with a guy like this. His wife does Disney Vacation planning on the side (as a hobby) - and supposedly gets all kind of free perks from it. But still, even then, I'd get sick of it.

I have two young kids, age 4 and age 7. We've already done the trip for the 7 year old and plan to do one for the 4 year old, but that's it for me after that - at least for a good while. I dislike large groups of people in general, and that place is a disaster for people like me. Top it off with most people there are rude and selfish as frick, and it's a horrific "vacation".

It’s great to be obsessed about Disney for your kid- the whole buy in to the magic make their dreams come true thing. But when the week is over, its time to move on.

I think a lot of people lack imagination, they just don’t realize all the travel possibilities, and they aren’t curious enough to go to places and do things.

Gonna go to the Florida game, tailgate with Slaggie and peeps then head to the Food & Wine festival in Epcot for a week.

Eat, drink be merry then back to BR for Better Then Ezra on Friday, and start tailgating all over again for Georgia.

I see no problem with my itinerary.

OT response: "why do you care how other people spend their vacations?"

Translation: "I'm one of those disney people. I also hang out with the rest of my trashy brethren on cruise ships and at the Phoenix X in Gulf Shores. I eat at chain restaurants mostly, and I probably own a minivan with stickers of all the places we've been to."
