yeah - people that come to a forum to bitch about something that literally has no impact on their own lives, other than to make them feel superior by belittling the others. however that said, if those people you mention do literally impact your life in any negative manner, I would wager that is a much larger problem on your side than theirs.

I know a couple and yes both are morbidly obese. They went for their honeymoon and every year since. Now that they have a kid, they take the kid every year. I think it's great to bring your kid to Disney, but I think it's sad this kid will never get to see the beach or the mountains. Of course they are also huge Star Wars fans and constantly shove this shite down the kids throat.

I have a co-worker and he and his wife are obsessed with Disney and want to move to Orlando and work there after retirement. They go at least twice a year and have been doing this for about 20 years.
He claims its his wife who is fascinated, but he's dressed up as a Disney character during Halloween Disney on more than one ocassion.

Girlfriend enjoys it. She has the FastPass routine down pat so we don't wait in line much. I don't know about Disney World, but Disneyland has California Adventure which has some more adult style themes and restaurants. An adult can spend a day or two in Disney. About 10-12 rides you can enjoy, interesting shows, Blue Bayou restaurant has some good food, good bistros in CA Adventure, and the fireworks are pretty good.

We go once every other year when we are back down in Southern California. Perhaps we aren't fitting your description of obsessed, which there definitely are, but let's not act like an adult can't enjoy some time there.

Exactly, except we go every 3 years.

I literally did this...but when I was a teenager.

For a kid from small town South Louisiana with no real world experience, those were probably the 2 or 3 best summers of my entire life.

People who know how to manage going to the parks generally have great trips and go with family.

Ask a few of us, and you might learn something about how to do it right and have great family fun in the process.

Well for starters the adult that starts threads complaining about how others spend their money and free time..

quote:

We all know the type, heavily picked on weird guy/girl from school... usually fat

Well this is just a horseshite generalization.

Even worse are the ones who decide to make a career out of it and are content flipping burgers dressed like an a-hole in an amusement park

Who's the a-hole here?? I have a friend that started as a ride attendant and now has a pretty high level job with the mouse... This argument is pathetic and stupid.. You're essentially criticizing people for working

quote:

Usually these people flood your Facebook feed with pictures of them with Mickey Mouse

Jesus...Then unfriend them you whiny bitch..

quote:

What is wrong with these people?

Not a damn thing, you do you and let these people do their thing.. B/c who the frick are they hurting??

quote:

Can the ot shed some light on this?

Sure, you're a pretentious a-hole with a complex.

Which reminds me of the anecdote about when Mickey Mouse consulted with a divorce attorney:

Attorney: "Mr. Mouse, I'm not sure you can divorce your wife Minnie just because you think she's crazy."

Mickey (in his high voice): "I didn't say she's crazy. I said she's fricking Goofy."

I would like to hear from one of you mousekateers why you would choose Disney world over a normal vacation. I can't see one single advantage. The food sucks and is overpriced. Waiting in line for an hour for a 3 minute pirate ride. Crying and screaming kids everywhere. Pissed off parents. Armies of old and fat people. Explain to me how this is fun again?

1 - The food does not suck.
You do pay a premium for convenience but can bring your own in.
2 - If you are an idiot, you can wait in line for an hour.
3 - Crying and screaming pussy Dads are more common than crying and screaming kids or wives.
4 - Old and fat people are everywhere and unavoidable. My quadrapalegic friend went on his honeymoon there because Disney personnel do a fantastic job for those with mobility impairment.

*5 - Getting your Achilles’s clipped by a stroller is an occupational hazard you need to stay aware of.

*6 - You should not go if you are not willing to research the trip. Or any vacation if you are that lazy.

God damn this is such a lazy, lame response. Where else can we bitch about the mouth breathers of society if not the OT?

These threads are a result of the variety of experiences one can have at Disney World.

You can go very cheap, but have a good time.
You can go very cheap, and have a bad time.
You can spend a ton, but have a good time.
You can spend a ton, and have a bad time.
You can go with a large group, and hate it.
You can go with a large group, and enjoy it.
You can go alone with your spouse, and hate it.
You can go alone with your spouse, and enjoy it.

And there are more. It can be a very high-end vacation with 3 bedroom villas, spas, golf, 5-star restaurants with a chef's table, wine tastings, party barge rentals, private transportation, and more. It can be very low-end with small hotel rooms, 16 hours a day in the parks, and bringing in your own meals.

If you're one of these chain restaurant connoiseurs I can see how you would think the food is good. And I'm speaking from experience. Been to that place five times and the food is overrated AF.

I don't mind putting in the research, but not so I can go on a fake boat ride to watch animatronic children sing songs.
