Something very close to this whole scenario happened to my Dad, back in 70s.Except he wasn't at a bar, he was coming home from his work rounds.
I don't want to get into the whole story, but his body ended up being found by duck hunters, after days of searching, by hundreds of volunteers.
It's a needle in a haystack thing.

Damn, sorry man.

Appreciate the thoughts. It was a long time ago.

One thing I know that I can tell you, if he was a real family man, his family aint slept 8 hours since this came to light.

Because it isn't overrun with crime like some of you love to imagine.

Crime maps begs to differ

Link to BR Crime Map

Another Crime map

see the "redder" the area the more crime there is. if that helps. 3rd street happens to be smack dab in the middle of an awfully warm color.

1. The Marriot isn't "right downtown." It's at Corporate & I-10.

2. If his phone was found 4 blocks away, he was robbed and/or kidnapped near his hotel, and his phone was tossed out the window as the thugs drove off.

3. If he was taken so they could beat the PIN number out of him, his body's in a cane field somewhere in WBR Parish or Iberville Parish.

another white person hunted and murdered by a black person and the black mayor and black police chief don't do shite about it or even mention it.

The Courtyard by Marriot is downtown.

It may be the same zipcode, but no one considers choctaw and the area around LWC, downtown. I lived on 3rd street for 7 years until last year.

Yeah #3 seems likely, which is what happened to a teacher of mine.

Killed, dumped in Erwinville, no one knew he was missing or dead until he didn’t show up for class after spring break.

Good chance the OT will solve this mystery before law enforcement does.

That's a lot of work. Probably made the man walk to wherever he is right now.

Your right, the lazy savages sometimes bring them to an abandoned house, shoot them in the head and set the house on fire.

Digging to bury and taking a trip to a secluded area is too much work for them and it takes away time they could use to commit other crimes.

The courtyard Marriott is 500 feet from Happy’s. And there is probably a camera every 50 feet. Certainly some on the corner at the Gregory and along Third St. Should be easy to track his movements as he left Happy’s.

Makes no sense why police have not released a photo of who used his card.

F33 is probably looking for this dude more than BRPD

And if he finds his body, BRPD will probably give him the Richard Jewell treatment.

You think the suspect was at the game, spotted them, followed him to the car, followed them to happy's, and then followed him towards his hotel.

I think he was just targeted by one or more hoodrats that he just happened to run into downtown with no witnesses around.

I agree. I was replying to the guy that was asking if the suspect could be in the picture of the basketball game.

I think the most likely scenario is a hooker spotted her mark. Made the offer and he went to an ATM. She watched him put the pin in. She said my hotel is this way and then it was over from there. I don't see him walking away with a black even if he pulled a gun. I'm on a busy street with a lot of people so if you're going to shoot me you are going to do it in front of everyone.

Basically, the phone was dumped at that dog park on Convention St. Presumably, in the trash at the dog park. Isn't there a luxury apartment complex located right there, that's relatively new? I would assume that complex has surveillance all over, where the perp/s went by the entrance and were caught on surveillance at the dog park.

Isn’t there a police substation next door to Jimmy John’s?

I'm guessing he didn't have much cash on him when they tried to rob him so they took him to an ATM and then decided they better get rid of someone that could identify them.
