My point being, in a shitty economy, sometimes you have to start at the bottom.
the economic opportunities afforded to 18-22 year olds fricking sucks, and a lot of that is due to boomers (other than them fricking up the economy and continuing to prop it up via public debt, they refuse to retire and let the next generation be economically productive)
when you have the greatest educated generation in American history facing the worst economic landscape for professionals, there will be some upset and cynical young people

I understand what you're saying. The issue does go back to what was pounded in my head from my parents, grandparents, teachers, pop-culture that after high school you went to college to not work a warehouse job.
So now because were all over educated and there aren't any office jobs, they are supposed to ignore what they have been told for 20 years?

I will tell you what.
The college generation is pretty much fricked.
I have 3 college aged children. 2 went to college. The 2 that went to college are still living at home and can't even support themselves. I pay for breakfast, lunch and supper for the 2 and they both have jobs. Because they were both instilled with the attitude that they should have 600 phones and 2500 tv's and 35k cars and eat out every meal(by all the great institutions_. Guess what, When you know nothing you get paid nothing. When you graduate, you know NOTHING!
My one child that did not go to college just started his own business. Has 13K in the bank and is not looking back.
The 18 - 29 age group has been duped into thinking that college is going to save them.
you've been fricked.

No. I love my parents and I know that there are exceptions from this generation, but it's that generation's fault our country is where it is right now.

my generation has managed to fix the violence of boomer generation of the 70s-90s while engaging in more actual sex, while having fewer teen pregnancies and abortions (regardless of age)

Pretty sure Hitler didn't get 100% of the youth vote as well.
But if you're going to give Germany "a good bit of the blame" then you have to in turn give today's generation "a good bit of the blame" for Obama as well.
Didn't you just say that you weren't comparing Hitler to Obama? But here you go again. It's always a good sign when you compare someone to Hitler, since I typically know not to take someone seriously who says stuff like that.

Yes. Every generation is both better and worse.

Yup. I was literally shown charts displaying the difference between HS grad wages and college grad wages. Told over and over a college degree, which is well outpacing it's expenses from the 70's, was the solution.

But is there a job you feel you are too good to do?
I have self respect, so of course there are jobs I'm above. I'm not going to be a god damn janitor after I invest tens of thousands of dollars to get certain skills the majority of the country doesn't have. If you don't feel like there's a job that you're too good to do and you've graduated from college, then you are stupid and have really low self esteem.

Gen x'er here just enjoying the fray. One question though.
Do you have time to learn from the last 70 years or just want to bitch and whine?
