Wait for your favorite sports team to lose a big game then go viral for throwing it off a balcony.

When I was a freshman at college ('82/'83) I had an old color TV go on the fritz that the repairman said couldn't be fixed. I was attending Trinity University in San Antonio that year, and right across the highway from the campus was the big city park, Brackenridge Park. They had a sort of natural rock amphitheater called the Sunken Garden, and there is a elevated roadway running along the back perimeter that at the time was open to cars:

(this is a more recent photo, post-seating expansion; the bottom under that wall used to be all natural rock)

Late one afternoon just before sunset, me and some buds put that worthless TV in the the trunk of my '74 Torino, drove on that road, took it out and hurled it over the edge.

It was a thing of beauty to watch it fall and break into a bazillion pieces when it hit the rocks below. It blew up real good!.

We got out of there fast, though...

Put a few rounds through it then chuck it up into the woods.

I think you just throw it away. Wife says you have to bring it somewhere special and Best Buy told her they’d charge us $30/ TV to dispose of it.

Settle this Badazz family dilemma. Thank you.

take it to the store with you and then leave your old TV in the same shopping cart and save the $30

or

go drop it at the local recycling center like normal people do

If it’s a tube tv, youll have to take it to a landfill.

Trash won’t pick them up and Salvation Army/Goodwill will not take them.

Only other option is sledgehammer it.

Put it by the road the day before trash day and somebody will probably pick it up

No one will pick up an old box TV not even poors. Flat screens are so cheap now.

I got a 1980’s magnavox television I can’t pick up. Like to haul it to the bayou and sink it.

When I left Illinois, we took all our old electronics to a special electronic recycling location for free.

If you live in BR, just put it on the curb on your bulk trash pickup day. Or, keep it until your favorite football team loses a big game. Then have someone film you throwing it out the window because you’re so mad and send the video to WAFB.

I took mine apart and got rid of it in pieces. Made the tube/screen target practice.

Also, if it still works make sure to reset the defaults back to erase all personal information on the set. Some smart TVs will still have your user information and you would not want someone having your email address or be able to login on one your accounts.

How big?

Just find a construction site with an open-top.

Throw it in.

?????

Profit (save $30)

Wait till your favorite sports team blows a game in epic fashion. Take it to a field and recreate the copier scene from Office Space. Go Viral. Get signed to Barstool. Profit.
