Its called escapism. I'm sure there are several things you do to help you escape from the world for a second whether it is going hunting, drinking, etc.
So people want to dress up and hang around others that share a similar interest. They aren't affecting your life in any way unless you continue to search it out yourself and then go and complain about it on the internet. If that is the case then it is you that has the issues not them.
