That's very reckless, and will usually lead to someone's heartbreak another day. You can't simply ignore reckless behavior. If you wait till someone is harmed by reckless behavior, then you are signing death warrants for innocent people.
And no, women should not put makeup on while driving.

I agree. Let's not pretend the first time someone gets a DUI is the first time they drove drunk. And the fact is if you have more than one arrest, you are definitely an alcoholic. If you have one, you probably are.

Yeah, if you drink and drive it's a pretty safe assumption you are an alcoholic.

Eh, I don't disagree with the second statement, but the first and third ones aren't necessarily true. Still, I don't see a reason why anyone in a city like BR, NOLA or Houston would drive drunk.
Once I finish my second drink of the night, I basically decide if I'm going home relatively soon and if so, I'll get a water and drive home. If I'm going hang around and have a few more, I call an uber. At most I'm out 20 bucks to get home and get the car in the morning.
Granted, this has nothing to do with being safety conscious--I have more faith in myself driving after a few than I do with half of the idiots on the road during normal traffic hours. I have zero desire to ever spend a night in prison and I act accordingly to avoid it.

The real issue with the DWI laws is that someone who is right at the legal limit is subject to the same penalties as someone two or three times the legal limit. I'm fine with harsher penalties for people who are completely shite-faced.

This is not true. Many states have mandatory jail time if you blow a certain number. Colorado mandates 10 days if you blow a .2, I think Tennessee mandates 10 days for a .16, etc. etc.
