Please make your own guac; it is laughingly simple to do and always better than that processed kind.

This is true of many things - hamburger patties, pies, soups, dozens of others - but it’s faster to buy these things already made.

I make my own guac, but spinning the roulette wheel of avocado quality means I’ll often buy a backup tub of premade just in case. Last week I split 4 straight nasty avocados that seemed perfectly fine on the outside.

I did get to Rouses today and they had a bin with at least 300 or more avocados in it. I was kind of expecting to find many overripe ones in the batch but to my surprise, they were all nice and firm and seemed to be about 2-3 days from being perfect for making guacamole or just eating by themselves or in a salad.

I picked out six real quick and while I got mine, several other customers were also taking advantage of the sale.

Not too bad of a shortage, I had Mexican last night at a place where I'm a semi- regular and the waitress brought me a free guac appetizer. Like Steve Martin said in My Blue Heaven, "Tipping is pointless, but overtipping, that's where it's at".

I work in retail produce. We have been steadily getting in avocados and guacamole.

Although there has been some strife in Mexico in the recent past between the cartels and the avocado farmers that has restricted the supply. The majority of avocados consumed in America come from Mexico.
