There's not much use for 100 tanks or an aircraft carrier in Kansas though, is there?

Hoe many tanks and aircraft carriers are currently in Kansas?

So you are maintaining that police officers have no value, and in fact are a net drain on society? The same with firefighters and EMS?

They do not have a quantifiable value other than the negative dollars from tax coffers

Correct

So you have an issue with military budgeting and allocation of resources?

I look forward to the day your house burns down, your wife is raped, and you have a heart attack.

Again, idiots like you is why libertarianism will never be taken seriously in this country.

That isn't the same as:

They actually have negative worth on taxpayers

The starting salary of a police officer where I am is $57,000 a year paid by local taxpayers

Correct, that's how it usually works.

They get paid 2.5% percent less dollars than that because of our local income taxes

Okay

They have a net negative local taxpayer value of $55,575 at starting salary.

What do you mean a net negative local taxpayer value? As in what their value is to the community? I don't know where you live, but do the majority of tax dollars come from individual citizens or from businesses? My follow up depends on this answer.

No idea. That's my point. The police and firefighters are useful there and the military isn't. So it is a problem of being useful.

Well, that's my point, too.

If you think the military is only tanks and aircraft carriers, I can understand why you have no idea what you're talking about.

I don't think that. I was simply saying his comparison was a false equivalence.

By and large I would agree that military spending is a giant money pit though.

Why else would you say the military isn't useful in Kansas after making a point about tanks and aircraft carriers there?

Depends on the veteran. If it's a veteran like me who served and was unscathed both mentally and physically after our tour(s). I don't expect anything other than what I signed up for. GI Bill and other benefits like Vet loan.

I do think it would go along way if people wouldn't disrespect the flag by kneeling, burning it, or trashing the Constitution but that's their right. Not gonna lie. That disrespect pisses me off to no end.

I’m sure that 10 pages in that everything that needs to be said has been said, but not everybody has said it so here are my 2 cents.

Yes our military pays our soldiers to do a job, but I’m a thankful beneficiary of their work and will acknowledge that every chance I get.

How much money is spent on an aircraft carrier vs their usefulness in Kansas?

Well, let's assume there are zero aircraft carriers in Kansas. That would mean the answer is $0.00 is spent on aircraft carriers in Kansas.
