Was the Church in between the art bar and moon .... Republic NOLA is planning to reopen it last I heard but that was a while ago

their website says they're just undergoing renovations and that all the shows have been shifted to the midcity ballroom

so it seems like its just a temporary setback

Spoon, at the drive in, citizen cope, the xx and many more over the years

yeah man i saw the xx there back when they were still a new act. right after their first album had dropped but before they really were a big deal. phenomenal

I bet that was great ... at the drive in played the moon and the bayou in the late 90s - some of the best live performances and energy I’ve seen

Cypress Hollow was before the Art Bar. CH was around when I was at LSU in the late '70's/early '80's, and I did the licensing paperwork for the AB (when I worked for the state ABC) in the late '80's. I used to speak to some old fellow named Onizeme who owned the joint (pronounce O nee zim). CH was one of my future FiL's favorite watering holes when I was dating his daughter.
