That said, I'm pretty sure they got officially married in a smaller service the other day with close family and friends. So this is just the party.

I would argue that is actually worse. They're shutting down blocks of the city, Penn Station, etc, for a party AFTER they were married. And while the mayor is asking people to set their thermostats to 78 degrees to conserve power.

But hey, I'm sure Madison Square Garden is the most climate and energy friendly building in the city.

I must admit that I'm a bit surprised that Swift fell for such a chud given the type of men she'd been dating since her teenage years. Though given the fact that I hear she was a mean girl in high school from a very reliable source (they were classmates), it shouldn't have surprised me.

People who will show up outside are mentally ill.

My local electric company (LG&E) is asking the same thing because of the heat dome we're in right now (it's 96, feels like 110 as we speak) to avoid blackouts. That's not unusual (and no, not everyone is doing it).

NYC hosts huge events all of the time. As long as they're paying for the venue and paying for security (which is typically off duty folks), I don't really care.

Doing it today also gives them the opportunity to do it on a day when a ton of people in downtown NYC are off work because of the holiday.

It goes the other way, too, with Kelce's history of dating black chicks. Taylor is a 180 from that.

Can't it be both? People say she does this everywhere she has a concert, it is PR and charity.

There is nothing wrong with doing charity and getting PR.

What if the utility company cut power to the poorer areas while leaving the "main" part of the city free from restrictions?
Outrage as brightly lit MSG hosts Taylor Swift's wedding while thousands of 'poor' New Yorkers sit in the dark amid heat-driven power cuts
quote:

As MSG glowed without restrictions, Con Edison, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and New York Governor Kathy Hochul came under fire for asking residents to conserve electricity during the extreme heat on Thursday.

Moreover, Con Edison strangely left Midtown and Lower Manhattan, New York's financial nerve center, out of their public warnings to reduce power. The utility giant instead focused on telling residents in less affluent areas to decrease their voltage on Thursday.

Con Edison has acknowledged that it reduced the power sent to residents by eight percent, but those cuts focused on the outer boroughs and neighborhoods in Northern Manhattan known for being economically challenged.

And it gets better:
quote:

In the Bronx, the New York Yankees are also scheduled to play a baseball game against Minnesota starting at 7pm ET, igniting their powerful lighting and digital billboards.

When the stadium was opened in 2009, it was estimated that Con Edison needed nine megawatts to power the ballpark. This is the equivalent of 9,000 New York homes.

The Daily Mail has reached out to the Yankees and the Mayor's Office on whether the team was asked to move the game to a different time which would not require the massive electricity demand while residents are without power.

Oh and don't forget the whispered plan of her releasing the footage like her Eras Tour film. She's going to leverage New York City and her fans to MAKE a profit on her wedding.

I mean, why not take advantage of her rabid fans that will pay whatever is asked just to see a few clips

Is that any different than more affluent areas after a storm getting their shite turned on first when power is lost?

I'm not saying it's right but I'm not pretending that shite like that doesn't happen everywhere and this is something exclusive to Taylor Swift or NYC. When we got hit back in 2009 with bad ice storms, poorer areas of our city were some of the last to get turned back on.

Attention whores. I mean, who else has their wedding or party afterwards at Madison Square Garden? On top of it being Fourth of July weekend on top of it being the 250th birthday of America. I understand that she is famous and makes music. I understand that he is famous and a football player. But that doesn’t make them special. Also, anyone else think that Taylor really wanted to date a black guy but the best she could do with her upbringing was a white dude that acted black? I bet he has a penis sleeve that’s chocolate and color and rather huge.

You’re not wrong. But usually a marriage falls apart when people are married too quickly.

These two have been dating long enough to know *most* of each others habits, schedules, and nuances.

They have more of a chance to last than most.
